You could probably get Mike Reilly for less than $2 million annually. That would give you slightly more $ at Montour and Domi assuming there will be a lot of teams interested once they hit the open market.

I agree. First rounder is a fair cost to get out of $7 million per and Bordeleau could help the prospect pool a little. Reminds me of Iskhakov

Isles are only gonna give up Pulock in an Ehlers deal. Maybe Perfetti but they would be inclined to keep him rather than take on all those pieces

Very much agree. Holmstrom scored 15 goals last year with bottom six minutes and no powerplay time. He helps WPG both now and in the future

My bad lol read through it all too quickly. Would be a great add if Anaheim is willing to trade

If you think the Isles are trading Horvat after originally sending assets to get him and give him an eight-year deal then I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

Ducks would easily match LaCombe so you'd either have to trade for his RFA rights or try bringing Reilly back for $1.5 million. I'm also not sure if Dallas does that Pulock trade

Islanders are not retaining. Either they give up more picks for the whole $5 million or they find a team that will take the rest of his contract on

Lou goes nuts
Replace Pulock with Dobson and either scarp or adjust a Palmieri trade and you might be onto something. A top six of Barzal - Horvat - Palmieri / Lee - Nelson - Marner would be the best the Islanders have had in a loooong time.

Chevy does risky things
Not sure whether the Isles themselves would do it but I would. Losing Pulock stings but if the cost of getting out of Pageau's $ is only a second and you get a serviceable Pulock replacement in Pionk, that could work. Also very interested to see what a Laine return in Winnipeg without Wheeler there would look like.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dimeohs</b></div><div>That is going to be a tough move. You guys would probably have to give up a 2nd rounder to make that happen</div></div>
Agreed the Isles just really need a shot in the arm, probably a RHD like Walker or Roy if they do an Ehlers/Pulock swap

Ehlers for Pulock Do you think NYI and WPG actually talk about this
Would have to be similar to the Horvat situation where a contract is ironed out fairly quickly after the trade. The only benefit here is if its one for one the extra pick Lou got from Chicago can either be used to move $ like Lee/Pageau out or to bring in a Pulock replacement (younger RHD)

Don't think the Islanders are interested in retaining any $ on guys they move out. Even if it means giving up extra draft picks Lou will want all $5 million of JGP's cap hit off the books

If Lee and Pageau both waives Isles prob say yes. Fans would definitely say yes as it opens $12m of space but I think if Lou actually wants to refresh the roster this would be a good start.

If all players were to waive their NTC I would totally say yes to this as an Isles fan. This lets Pulock become more of a stay at home Dman and I personally see a fit with Krug on the second pair.

Not sure if Utah accepts but I know that Armstrong really wants to reshape the blue line. If Lee waives and this deal is possible I hope Isles would accept because he would be a great replacement for Pulock

If Lee were to waive I'd do it as an isles fan. Not a ceremonious end to his time as captain but him and his family would be able to live in the Bay Area and he would provide mentorship to a pretty exciting young group of talent. Not sure what Lou would do with that $7 million opened up but I am a fan of this.

I would no doubt love those guys instead too. Might have to take out the first rounder there but Johnston is the pick between him or Stankoven

I'm not saying Harley is better than Dobson by any means but he just put up 47 points from the blue line as a 22-year-old. Losing Dobson does sting but Lou would have to give him a big extension and I personally think Borque could become a long-term Nelson replacement as the 2C if developed correctly.

This is a really interesting approach and I honestly don't hate it. St. Louis probably wouldn't want to take on both Pelech and Pageau's money but definitely there's a team out there that would take JGP with a sweetener. Heiskanen - Tanev and Lindell - Dobson would be a stacked Top Four.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>Winnipeg doesn't consider that deal at all. But if you take out everything on the Islanders side and add Pulock, you've got a deal that the Jets consider.</div></div>
This deal gives WPG cap space to explore a RHD in free agency like Carrier or Montour. Unfortunately the best of Pulock has come and gone. He's had a lot of injuries and can't really skate or contribute offensively like he used to
