What a win that would be the islanders.

i just can't see the islanders trading a rhd with a reasonable cap hit in year 3 of an 8 year contract, especially for a winger on an expiring deal. pulock has a full ntc too. i know he's from manitoba, but that doesn't automatically mean he'll waive. he's been with the islanders for 11 years now

Idk, maybe but I doubt it, the swap makes sense for both sides to some extent so thats why it's on here so much along with Ehlers rumored to possibly be on the way out.

Ultimately its highly unlikely that Pulock would waive.

I've seen this trade a gazillion times and people forget Lou is senile and will prioritize a shut down dman over a top 6 forward.

Would have to be similar to the Horvat situation where a contract is ironed out fairly quickly after the trade. The only benefit here is if its one for one the extra pick Lou got from Chicago can either be used to move $ like Lee/Pageau out or to bring in a Pulock replacement (younger RHD)

My guess is that it has been talked about as GMs check in with one another, but I doubt it ever even progressed to a negotiation stage.

It still lives on in the CapFriendly universe ... until that universe collapses in a few weeks.

The Manitoba connection point reminds me of Mark Stone when he left OTT. The Jets tried to trade for him but were never going to meet the Sens price as he was only going to extend in Vegas and wasn't interested in a long term deal in his hometown of Winnipeg (or anywhere else) if I recall correctly.

That would be a win for both teams. Just wonder why Islander fans would trade Pulock? and is Ehlers a player like Coach Roy would want?

I don't know, I'm just not a fan of Pulock. I feel like it's been 2 years of him being bad. I would worry about the contract. I guess he plays with Morrissey? Still, having him and Poink as your top4 RD sounds dreadful to me. Don't know if Roy wants Ehlers, but he would give them a good offence boast, and you can't teach that transition when he's healthy. Also, maybe they shouldn't worry too much about what Roy wants. Last time he had too much control in the big leagues he almost killed a team.

Pulock is a legit top 4 dman, is either of DeMelo or Pionk a legit top 4 dman, I'm not convinced they are.

Outside of the Sharks and maybe a few other teams the Jets might have the worst RHD in the league, oh and it's way overpaid too.

Pulock is probably not better than DeMelo defensively. You seemed to have missed my point about Pionk. Based on his and Pulock's contracts and what I think of them, I think that would be an awful situation for the Jets.

No I got what you were getting at and yeah there's risk with Pulock's contract but there's risk with giving DeMelo four or more million.

Have you watched much of DeMelo, the guy is an awful skater.

I'd rather have Pulock myself, I know many love DeMelo though.

I really don't want to see Ehlers traded.

I'm definitely with you on thinking they should keep Ehlers.
