You are not getting the 13th overall pick for Matheson, I don't care if you added another late 1st on top

Its 13 spots. Matheson is worth moving down 13 spots

The Blackhawks aren't trading the 2nd overall either. They can take there guy period. They probably would entertain something with that 20th overall pick, whether that be trade up or back etc.

The issue that Habs fans can’t grasp is that Matheson is not a target for Minnesota for the same reason Montreal is trying to trade him. Go find a contender that can give you a late 1st for him.

I was gonna bash the trade for opposite reasons, CapFriendly at its finest I guess... the cost to move up to 13th from 26th is 27th and a 4th round pick.

Matheson is more valuable than 27th and a 4th round pick, at 13th overall you hope the player you get is as good as Matheson one day.

Lol. The Jets aren't trading Ehlers for a cap dump.

Hawks aren't trading back. They want either Demidov or Levshunov. Neither of them will be available at 5OA.

I doubt Minnesota would take 26+27+4th for 13. We need quality. We already have enough mid ranged prospects.

Who is it going to be? I really like Levshunov at 2, but some think Demidov is a step ahead.

Habs aren't trading Barron, a 1st, 2nd, and two 3rds for Ehlers (who would cost a lot to extend) when they could take a run at Toffoli or Marchessault without giving up any assets either. Necas or Zegras would be better alternatives to target in a trade as well.

No need for MTL to dump Anderson at this time anyways, I don't understand why fans don't grasp that trading a player who just had the worst season of his career and still has 3 years of term left is the worst thing they could possibly do. Either he bounces back or they are in the same position next year with only 2 years to dump (or buyout) instead of 3.

I'm hoping for Demidov. His upside potential is crazy high. Like Kucherov good! But if it ends up being Levshunov, I'd be ok as well. That would basically lock p the Hawks blue line for the next decade. Don't think there's a "wrong" choice either way.

Jackets obviously pass. We'll see what Laine wants to do if/when he comes back. If he wants traded, i have no doubt we will get more than Armia.

I agree, but Matheson is worth much more than 27th + a 4th round pick. If Matheson isn't a fit in Minnesota then that's one thing but not what the first comment originally said.

I hope you guys don't trade Matheson, for your sake, because I think it would break you to see what Matheson is actually worth

And the first comment said you're not getting the 13th overall pick for Matheson. Minnesota has the 13th overall pick. Minnesota is not trading that pick for Matheson. You, in fact, are not getting the 13th overall pick for Matheson.

You think Matheson isn't worth more than 27th overall + a 4th round pick? I think Hughes is a little too smart to trade his #2D that hit 60 pts for a late 1st... not too worried about being "broken" when it comes to that.

This is peak ACGM talking past each other. Matheson can be worth 13 draft spots in the first round and not fill any remote need for the Wild. Don't try to force trades that aren't a fit, and don't argue value on trades that aren't a fit.

...

Laine for Armia is arguably the worst of many Laine proposals I've seen on here, it's just a blatant disregard for Columbus' needs/Laine's value. That's a joke.

Do your eyes not work? Barron, 1st, 2nd and 2 3rds isnt a cap dump and more than pays for Anderson and Ehlers

Armia had 17 goals, Laine had 6. One is paid 3.5m and plays very good defence. The other is a one dimensional scorer that doesnt score and makes nearly 9m. Laine hasnt hit 30 goal since 2018-2019

Laine shouldnt have any value. Hes a one dimensional goal scorer that doesnt score. He has hit 30 goals in 6 seasons. And matheson does fit a role for the Wild. hes an upgrade on Middleton and would be their best OFD and actually gives them a PP1 QB (Faber is fine there but hes better 5v5).

Because it gives them a potential 20 goal scorer and try to revive his career, away from Columbus. The risk is the 18m in cap hit over 2 seasons. Its a med risk, med reward type of trade
