Description

People have been whispering for months about a multi-piece, multi-team deal involving CBJ and EDM, and now more has come out about CBJ and Elvis both being willing to make a change.

I am envisioning a three-team trade with CBJ sending Elvis and a 4th for a 1st from EDM, EDM getting Elvis for Campbell and a 1st, and SJS taking Campbell for a 4th.

I think this could happen within the next month. CBJ are going to be clear sellers at the deadline, looking to deal Peeke, Boqvist, Roslovic, and potentially more (Bemstrom, Bean, Texier).

Dude... no one is taking Campbell's current contract situation for a 4th. If that was the price, he would have been out of Alberta a long time ago.

If Campbell could be moved for a 4th I’d pay for his flight to whatever city he’s traded to.

You are contradicting yourself in the same trade. How would the Oiler's need to give an additional first to upgrade Campbell to Elvis and then it only costs a 4th for Columbus to dump him to San Jose.

The reason Elvis and Campbell swaps have been in conversation is because it would be one option for the Oiler's where they don't have to give up a boat load of assets to get out of the contract.

Yes Elvis has more value than Campbell, but he also likely has negative value based on his cap hit and term remaining

The only way this makes ANY sense is if EDM was retaining 50% on Campbell, and then CBJ was retaining another 50%. Because even at 1.25 mil Campbell still has negative value lol

You have to be leaving out the rest of the return for SJ. I could see Boqvist and maybe a swap of the Edm 1st going to SJ for a 2nd and maybe a late round pick in a future draft evening things out a bit.
