Trading 10th pick to San Jose outright
The Sharks would like that pick, but those aren't the types of assets they want to be moving.

Projecting what we have core wise
I love him, but I'm not sure Eklund will be a true #1 winger. I think Emberson is more likely to be a bottom pairing defenseman as well.

CORE FOUR NO MORE MARNER TO NASHVILLE BERUBE NEXT HEAD COACH
The Sharks are pretty likely to be bottom 5 again next year, I dunno if they want to trade a top 40 pick to move up to 23rd.

I think those are both numbers the Sharks would be willing to pay, but I understand if they don't want to play on a rebuilding team.

The Sharks have plenty of cap space and need some guys to fill those slots. What # do you think they would sign at? $5m Roy $6m Debrusk?

Sharks pass, they aren't giving up Ferarro for bottom pairing guys and a late pick.

With Macklin
Not a fan of that Orlov trade, the Sharks shouldn't trading for guys entering the Twilight of their career. That Laine trade is wild, don't think the Jackets would be interested in that.

So the Sharks give you a middle pairing LD in exchange for a similar (but higher paid) LHD and also give up a 3rd? Color me confused.

I think Celebrini is far enough ahead of the pack that the Sharks would say no to that + your 2025 1st.

playoff run
I don't see the Sharks doing that. They need top 6 forwards and top 4 D. They'd be trading down for a bottom 6 forward and a last pairing defenseman.

Maybe. If Mukhamadulin develops into someone that can drive offense, maybe it won't be as necessary to get an offensively-minded guy.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RecycleShark</b></div><div>Hell yeah it changes things! Great day to be a Sharks fan.
Ghost would help the pp but he's weak on defense. Check out Oliver Ekman-Larsson instead.
Feel the same about Debrusk. Celebrini and Smith are high skill but smallish. We should add some big, physical, defensively minded UFAs to support them. Add UFAs who can play D and let Celebrini and Smith bring the O.</div></div>
Imo the Sharks need someone like Debrusk to fill out the top 6, you really don't want the entire top of the lineup to be guys under 24. I can see Ghostisbehere not being the best choice though, maybe someone like Dylan Demelo instead?

Small Ball
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dgibb10</b></div><div>I may be off on the Sharks trade in that they may not need an LD.
It really depends on how thrun is viewed and if Shakir is ready. I'm assuming vlasic is basically a LTIR at this point.</div></div>
Thrun is probably a full time NHLer at this point, a bottom 4 kind of guy. Shakir spent most of last year in the AHL, but I would be surprised if he wasn't a full time NHLer next year. Add Ferarro and some combination of Vlasic/Rutta/Burroughs, the Sharks are pretty full on LD at the moment.
They would definitely be open to moving Sturm, but at this point they are going to want to get back a top 4 LD prospect or a middle 6 winger. They aren't going to be very interestiedin moving their 2024 1st/2nd rounders, either.

Also you re-signed Emberson for $1.25m then immediately buried him in the AHL, that's above the max you get cap relief for.

I think it's ambitious to think Couture will be healthy again, especially in a 1c role. I also think if Celebrini turns pro, it will prompt Smith to come over as well. No reason to buy out Vlasic if you're going to leave yourself with 10m+ in cap space, just scratch him. He's not any worse than Burroughs was last year.
