STL trade-- New 3rd line
McCann is 2 years younger than Oskar and has out produced him the past two seasons. Pass, pens aren't going to pull a chicago blackhawks and bring back former players.

wha... what did i just read. You want to move the penguins best puck moving Dman, for a young unproven 3C, sign a stay at home 30yr old Dman, give up a sold winger the pens traded for last year for a stay at home dman. Also as noted about Vegas won't move Glass.
Makes the Pens worse.

Not signing Jack Johnson
Dumoulin has arguably been the best defender the Penguins have over the last two seasons, he is not going anywhere. Maatta maybe, but still unlikely, i think mgmt really likes him. Haglin is the odd man out. Also doubt Brass will be leaving, They brought him in to be a 3c.

not enough for schultz, to much for sheary, hawks wouldn't take that deal, and what is AA?!

Getting That 3C
wayyyyy to much for duchene, and you'll get moore for under a mil. Vegas also wouldn't take that deal, they have to many defenseman, they need scoring right now.

No iginla, and pretty sure the Sens would laugh if the pens asked them to retain half his contract....

Marleau Thornton Package plus Duchene
Duchene trade will probably have to include Sprong, and maybe even Aston-reese, sakic wants youth, hags turns 29 in august. Also No desire to bring in two guys that are very close to 40, specially considering they're going to both want money, and at least Joe wants 3yrs. Id be fine with Joe if the deal is reasonable, and like a 1yr or 2yr, and id rather bring Sheary back over Marleau.
Marleau had 46 pts in 82 games, turns 38 in August, probably going to want around 4mil.
Sheary had 53 pts in 61 games, turned 25 last month, probably going to be around 2-2.5 mil. I take sheary.

Thread:
Getting Duchene
I went with that trade considering most of the rumors have that being what would be needed to get duchene. Sakic wants youth in return. Not a big Zotto fan either, but if that trade would go through and the pens lose maatta, then something needs to be done on the defense to fill the spot and I believe del zotto made like 3.75 range last year. He just turned 27, so he's not going to be looking to take a pay cut just because he'd be on a team that has a good chance at a cup. Also not sure Pouliot is going to pan out, at least not with the pens. He was a stud in portland, avg in WBS, and hasn't shown much when brought up for the pens. I think ruhwedel is a nice piece to have and could potentially fill an injury to one of the top 6 nicely ( and he showed that he's not afraid to shoot), Gaunce was hit or miss. I do think someone needs to be brought in to add to the defense though. Streit is gone, daley is gone, not sure what hainsey will be doing (id retire if i were him). When it comes to free agent D (assuming the trade happens and maatta is gone, idk who would be good options. Smith signed with rangers, not sure what's going to happen with stone in CGY. If i were the pens, i'd also be a bit worried about letang's future. A stroke and neck surgery aren't any minor injuries, he could finish his career much earlier than most think

Do it JR
highly doubt oilers would go for that, not to mention rumor on the street is that they already have a new deal for McDavid, and that its for 13.25 mil a year. Oilers challenge will be keeping draisaitl. Center's are in high demand right now, and i just don't see the oilers losing one of theres specially without getting one in return. Also going to have to add more for Duch, probably going to be Maatta, Sprong, and a first

A Scoring Winger to ANA, A Reliable D-man for PIT
would love to get Vatanen, but not sure giving up Hornqvist would spark the ducks. Ducks are on the older side up front, also takes away a winger for the pens who's good at crashing the net, and getting those garbage goals

John Tavares
That's soooo much for Johnny T.. As awesome as it would be to have him, that's so much for one player... he's also up in 18-19, so he'd be wanting a bunch of cash, I also don't see the Isles giving him up.

Threepeat 3.0
as a pens fan, zero desire for thornton. Great person/player, but turning 38 and coming off an acl/mcl, no thanks. Id rather keep bonino. Also i have no desire to lose Olli yet, and I don't think the Habs are going to part ways with Galchenyuk. As much as i'd be okay with the vegas trade, vegas is in need of goal scoring right now, and that trade doesn't offer it, so i doubt it'd happen.

You'll have to give Bonino more than 2 million. Pens will either resign him for more, or some team will throw $$$ at him. That Kane trade is a stretch.
