Don't see either of those deals happening but boy is that a good Team. Thornton signing could (and should) happen

    A) Thornton won't leave San Jose
    B) Thornton while an offensive upgrade over Bonino is a defensive, fit, and overall downgrade

Re-signing Bonino is cheaper, younger, and a much better fir chemistry wise.

Why is everyone in such a hurry to dump Määttä? He's very young and helped this team win two cups. I just don't get the volume of people looking to move him for players who are NOT obvious upgrades.

as a pens fan, zero desire for thornton. Great person/player, but turning 38 and coming off an acl/mcl, no thanks. Id rather keep bonino. Also i have no desire to lose Olli yet, and I don't think the Habs are going to part ways with Galchenyuk. As much as i'd be okay with the vegas trade, vegas is in need of goal scoring right now, and that trade doesn't offer it, so i doubt it'd happen.
