If Winnipeg trades Ehlers, you have multiple options with Chytil (I know the injury history). Outside of this, Winnipeg gets a potential second line centerman or a top 6 rw. They get a second round pick as well and a throw in of Berard who I think will be a good bottom 6 forward in the future... for a player that doesn't want to be in Winnipeg.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Letsgosharks</b></div><div>is Trouba that bad that its worth buying him out?
honestly only saw all the Trouba hate come playoff time just curious why</div></div>
It's more the fact that Schneider has overtaken his place (foot speed) etc. No one is questioning Trouba's leadership or on ice defensive ability (hitting, blocking shots - as I still think he is elite in that regard, offensive ability absolutelty - he has been pretty brutal), however, you don't pay 8 million dollars to a third pair defenseman. If Trouba was at 4-5 million this wouldn't even be a conversation.

That's the thing though, players that want to go to specific cities sometimes sign for less. Last year I was called crazy when I said blake wheeler would sign for league minimum with the rangers (even though it didn't work out). I think Kane comes back to NY for around 3 million.

I just don't think the rangers move schneider at this point, maybe down the line. I'm not sure what other teams are going to offer that is considered "fair value" for a guy that has yet to play in the nhl. The closest one that I have seen on here is zegras straight up for him, and I think even that winnipeg would need to throw more in. Not from the rangers, but any team in the league, what looks like a fair trade for him? Also I'm almost positive jones played RD for the rangers when he was up.

Martinook was the only guy, which I think the team would be comfortable with, especially that it is still over a million less than goodrow's contract, plus it is also a lot less length than the goodrow deal. The others are 1 year deals

I think lindgren will need to sign for less, otherwise rangers consider moving him, and I think Kane signs for less in general to go to a cup contender (not necessarily the rangers, but to any cup contender).

How about for a conditional third in 2025 instead, that if chytil plays in more than 65% of the games in back to back seasons, then it becomes a second?

You have to worry about the here and now. This core's window is closing, and fast. The goal is to build a cup team, I think this is as close it could get for their roster construction. I know that is an issue next year, but I feel like KAM will be traded next summer. You find a way to fit guys if/when you win. 22 million between the 3 players looks a lot better, but we will see. I also think this might be the last years we see from goodrow and chytil (especially if they are repeats of this past year).

My bad, the site always has panarin with mika, it should be kreider and panarin swapped. As for chytil, in the playoffs he was playing 1st line rw

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>A #1RW with a cap hit of only $4.75 million that you're going to play with Panarin and Zibanejad who's averaged 0.88 PPG over the last three seasons with Buffalo is worth a lot more than a #3C with a dubious injury history and four second-level prospects. Buffalo wouldn't trade Alex Tuch without both a first-round draft pick <strong>and</strong> Gabe Perreault in the deal, and that's just for starters.</div></div>
First, panarin doesn't play with Zibanejad other than the pp, Chytil was the #2 center before the injury, and sykora is considered one of the top 3 prospects in the system. Perreault and Othmann are untouchable simply because of how close to the nhl level they are. Robertson is a former 2nd round pick, plus a second, plus - I don't even mind making the 2027 pick a 2026/2027 first (no conditions). This is also just for 2 years of Tuch.

Yes, and I think one of the two would be open to the move if that is what is presented to them at that time. If Mika has another year like he did this year, it stands within reason that he could be bought out too

I think next year they try to move mika or panarin, maybe both. I think management wants to give the team one more chance before breaking up the core.

If you think the Rangers stars disappeared against Florida, they're all Mark Messier's compared to Lazy Mantha.
What a waste of hockey talent he turned out to be.
He should've been a superstar.</div></div>
It's more I had seen him play when it was rangers-caps, and I always felt like Mantha killed the rangers far too often. And it was more that it was clutch plays too. Just trying to construct a team that is harder to play against in the playoffs. Doesn't have to be mantha, but a mantha-esque type of player.
