There's no incentive for Winnipeg to do that.

If Winnipeg trades Ehlers, you have multiple options with Chytil (I know the injury history). Outside of this, Winnipeg gets a potential second line centerman or a top 6 rw. They get a second round pick as well and a throw in of Berard who I think will be a good bottom 6 forward in the future... for a player that doesn't want to be in Winnipeg.

Yeah, there's just no reason for Winnipeg to sell low at this point. He has never said he doesn't want to be in Winnipeg, just that he wants a guaranteed NHL spot.

Chytil is way too risky to consider for anything more than a mid round pick. He doesn't have the value to start a discussion for a top prospect.

Berard is a tiny AHL winger with little value to anyone outside of New York.

Pretty easy no for Winnipeg.

If I'm WPG I would question the value with Chytil. So basically it is a question mark and potential top 9 ish bottom 6 fw. So as a Rags fan this is a bit underwhelming for WPG.

That bridge I believe has been burned. He wants out and Winnipeg is kind of forced to do so bc he could leave via the college rule. Prediction is he ends up in Columbus with his college buddies in Fantilli and Brindley.

Just because you want to believe it is true, doesn't mean it is. Aside from that, at this point there's just no reason for Winnipeg to entertain offers that do nothing for them. They've got all year to work out a deal.

If the Jets are in a playoff spot at the trade deadline and the relationship is still crap, I can see them using McGroarty as a trade chip instead of trading away their 2025 1st. The acquiring non-playoff team can turn him pro at the end of his junior season at Michigan and he would have a better chance of sticking on an NHL roster.

Yeah, the only time that Chevy might have been forced to take a sub standard return was Friday, if there was someone he really wanted in the first round. Then maybe someone could have forced his hand.

Now it will be a standard Chevy trade, he'll set his price and wait.
