Are you expecting to fall back in the draft? There's no chance you are taking Silayev at 4. Dickinson sure but probably one of the forwards

You just buy Elvis out if you're going to retain $2.7M on him. Adding Chinakhov to Elvis 50% retained and only getting a 2nd back is a fireable offense.

If there is one thing I don't want to see from the new GM, it's signing Lindholm to a seven year deal. He is going to be overpaid wherever he signs.

He's dropped to like 9 since then. Top 3 are Celebrini, Demidov, and Levshunov.

I could see a scenario where the Jackets could trade back with say Ottawa but right now I agree it will be a different player.

I believe this team has too many wingers. Was reading a Portzline article last night that said the same thing. If you draft Lindstrom, how does he develop into anything but a third liner with all the depth? Catton might bust trying to get through all this depth. You can have too many prospects and players to develop in my opinion.

When I think about teams developing all of the right pieces, and I look at this team, I see a glaring need for defencemen that can suppress the other team. I don’t follow the prospects closely but Silayev looks perfect for that role.

Don’t buyout Elvis! Those extra three years are when the Jackets are going to be great!

I'm not saying you should draft a winger but definitely take BPA and Silayev won't be that

I’m no draft expert but if it’s a choice between Parekh and Silayev, for Columbus, I’m taking Silayev. Dickenson over both. Levshunov over all three. So I get your point. There’s lots of good choices. Columbus reaching compared to the consensus could work out. And he could be BPA looking back five years from now.

Lindholm won't be able to carry soft little johnny all by himself, Tkachuk had a lot to do with the success of that line. Marchenko is the closest thing the Devils have to Matthew so maybe it works.

I think Columbus will take Cayden Lindstrom if he isn't already gone by then. The Ducks probably take him though.

I don't see Bean ever becoming more than an average #6D. I don't think the Flames would target anymore 3rd pairing Dmen this year.

We do have a lot of wingers, and trading from that strength to build up the defense would therefore be a good idea. But that doesn't appear to be what you've done with this AGM; in particular, that Chinakhov trade is a very poor one for the Jackets. We'd be better off targeting a good defensive second-pairing guy somewhere (free agency or trade) and letting the blueliners we already have in the pipeline develop and force their way onto the team.

Lindholm had a lot more chemistry with Gaudreau than he did Tkachuk. Also Laine is like 6'5 and 210lbs

Lindholm + Tkachuk + whoever was a good line without the tiny one. Laine is brittle and non physical. Every time he tries to be a little physical he gets hurt again.

Bob's list is basically a consensus list weighted by how good each of the lists he compiles his list from have been in the past. Bob has never come up with anything original not even if you go way back 40+ years to his THN paper days. He's always been a hack who gets most of his info from reading what many different people who actually know what they're talking about say.

He has lots connections mostly because he's been such a good shill over the years for spinning things the way teams, players and agents want him to.
