Idk what to even say about that Kings one. giving up ANY assets for PLD is legit insanity
These are awful for SJ</div></div>
22 y/o with 3 career games and 1 assist is better than a 21 y/o with 130 career games and 59 points? How do people say things so obviously untrue and expect them to be taken as any kind of fact?
Blue Jackets turn down this garbage in a heartbeat.

You just buy Elvis out if you're going to retain $2.7M on him. Adding Chinakhov to Elvis 50% retained and only getting a 2nd back is a fireable offense.

There would be a far better and more relevant offer for the Jackets' future core if they were to make Werenski available.

Potential Rossi Trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>squashmaple</b></div><div>Columbus is pretty small, too. Among prospects, Dumais, Brindley, and Pinelli are all 5'9", and on the NHL roster Justin Danforth is even shorter. Fix-Wolansky is 5'5", though he's a tweener. On the blue line, Boqvist is a very small listed 5'11", and top prospect Denton Mateychuk is under six feet as well (though built like a tank). KJ is 6'1" but he only weighs about 165. And of course then there's famously small Johnny Gaudreau, although I've never seen a player as good at evasion on the ice as he is. Really, the only truly big guys in the system are Voronkov, Jiricek, Gudbranson, and Laine (there is a 6'8" Russian prospect, but his odds of coming over are very low). Everyone else is under 6'2" or a goalie. The org as a whole is so small there's a lot of discontent over the coming draft, and a lot of fans are preferencing Lindstrom or Silayev just because they're big boys.</div></div>
KJ is 140 now. He lost 25 pounds when his arm was ripped off on that faceoff.

There's no Marner to Columbus trade for valuable young players that makes any sense for the Jackets when Marner has zero interest in being in Columbus.

Totally. Not like he led the team in PK TOI this year among forwards and had a nearly even offensive/neutral/defensive faceoff split or something. No defensive responsibility whatsoever.

Lol, sure. 20 y/o players with 220 games under their belt and a solid 2-way game are just so common. You go be happy with a 23 oa pick in 2026.

Penguins off-season
Laine's best hockey has been played in Columbus up until he started dealing with whatever off-ice issues he has now. There is no reason to believe that he can't get back to where he was in 2021-22 and 22-23 with a clear head.
With how much love Boone has for Columbus, Pittsburgh is absolutely on his no-trade list if the Jackets would ever even begin to consider sending him to a division rival.
The package you're proposing doesn't even cover Boone's value to the Jackets let alone Laine 50% retained and taking back what equates to a pure cap dump to the Jackets in Reilly Smith.
There is no benefit for the Jackets here.

Far from the quality I was suggesting, but it doesn't matter much what I think since it would be the Jackets management group and their ridiculous expectations that would need to be met to realistically get a deal for Jenner done.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SportsfanBUF</b></div><div>What do you think would be a fair trade? 1st and a 3rd?</div></div>
I'd take a single prospect in the 19-22 y/o range who has a good shot at being a middle 6 forward one day and a pick in the late 1st to early 2nd range. It really seems like the Jackets management would need the equivalent of three 1sts though with how damn stubborn they're being about Boone being the heart and soul of the team.

Buffalo Sabres 2024-25 Playoff Roster
Not even close to getting Jenner. He's the team's captain, all-time games played leader, current 1C (even though he really shouldn't be), has paced for 30g each of the last 3 seasons, he has 2 years left on a contract that is far below market value, he expressly wants to remain in Columbus, and he has the backing of ownership and management. It would take a ridiculous package to get him out of Columbus despite trading him being in their best interest for bolstering their future group.

No clue on Laine until he's out of the program. Imo, if he's motivated and wants to be in Columbus then he'll be staying. His teammates love him and the city does too.

Jackets decline. They're not a team that's going to trade down. Their biggest need is top 6/4 talent and keeping the higher pick should give them a better chance at getting a player to fill that need.

Around here we always see CBJ players assigned lesser value because they're CBJ players. We've now reached the point where CBJ picks are being assigned lesser value because they're CBJ picks and it's hilarious.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LuckyMoneyPuck</b></div><div>honestly get over yourself.
Just come back down to reality and admit that 2026 pick is most likely same range.
And if you think people haven't already summed up drafts and make these valuations you are kidding yourself. Players apply for exceptional status at 15. Don't think no one is evaluating them. Whole drafts are pretty much wrapped up on paper years before their draft year. They are just tweeked here and there along the way.</div></div>
Players rise and fall all over the draft rankings during their draft year, let alone 3 years before their draft year. There is zero equivalency between a top 6 pick in 2024 and a completely unknown 1st round pick in 2026. You have no idea what you're talking about, and that's the last I'll be hearing from you.
