Yeah I do not see that trade happening at all it was just a trade that I had seen pop up, I really do not see the wings doing that much, I think howard will be traded, and I think sheahan goes to vegas.

The expansion draft will not allow players on LTIR to be picked up, so that makes franzen exempt from the draft, wingingitinmotown has some pretty good expansion draft articles.

I like those moves, the only thing I would do different is if you are drafting at 13th I would draft Callan Foote.

players 2017/2018
I just went with a pick that was shown in a couple mock drafts, I think they should either take a defensemen or a center, I like Cal Foote, because he plays in the whl and is considered a solid all round defensemen, I believe they have him projected anywhere from 10th to 15th. and the main reason I like him is he is a 6'3" all round d-man, and this draft is not a super deep draft but it looks like there are some decent defensemen in this draft.

I agree on waiting till cam fowler is a free agent we need to keep as many assets as we can.

With retained salary no reason not to believe that Holland can't get for Green what Arizona got for Yandle while i agree that Yandle was much younger then Green is i still feel that we can get something decent for Green only time will tell. I don't see Holland moving Green until next year if we're out of the playoffs.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>redw1n9s</b></div><div>Green isn't young, there's your first problem. I doubt Holland is intelligent enough to realize he can trade Green, and still obtain Vatanen or Barrie via another trade. Green will only bring a good package back from a team that is going to be a Stanley cup contender, that is partially why I chose San Jose, you bring him in on the second pairing and your second power play unit, I don't see a first that is why I went with 2 second round picks as far as a prospect it could be any defensive prospect they are willing to give up, and green will finish in the top 30 scoring defensemen in the league on a bad red wings team this season.

Which d prospect from san jose would you add into the trade for mike green?

I think it will either be him or Timothy Liljegren , I chose him because he has good two instinct and good size to, and I think they should draft a defensemen, I think some times a player will rise and fall till the draft, but foote is a good two-way defenseman playing in the WHL which is generally a really defensive junior hockey league.

Yeah I agree with removing the salary retention on Sheahan, as far as howard goes I think we might be able to get a second and a third, as for green he could definitely get more.

I can see adding different draft picks in but I am not going to trade mantha or larkin, both slavin and nyquist are fourth round picks, and nyquist is good for 10 -20 goals and be a 40-50 point player and is a top two line player, and he played well under there current coach when he was an assistant under babcock, and Carolina is loaded with good young defensemen in the ahl and nhl.

Does Jurco only get you a 5th?
Not a bad deal with Carolina, they take on Nyquist's contract and get a prospect in return for a better prospect.
The Brendan Smith one makes me laugh, only because last night he was essentially the centerpiece in a deal to get the Wings Cam Fowler. It was funny. Not a bad idea to get whatever you can for him.
The Edmonton deal is messy. I know Chiarelli has a history of being a moron, but are you really giving up on a 23 year old (Former first overall pick) center, plus throwing in TWO first round pick for an offensive d-man and 2 months of Vanek? Yikes. Probably not...</div></div>
Also from a Ducks POV, we also can't move Theodore for Tatar because of cap space.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NMU1986</b></div><div>Tatar would not have to be protected as long as they do not resign him before the season is over because he will be a restricted free agent, at least I think that is how the rules would go and it would probably take and added pick or prospect to that deal, but I am not completely sure, as for the Edmonton deal it would probably work if I took out RNH, because of taking the 2 older players that are not playing for them, As for jurco that was a spit ball guess he has potential if placed in the right situation, as for Brendan smith miller and ott it is to get what ever we can get for them</div></div>
That's not how it works. LV can still draft the rights of players, even if a contract is not in place. Otherwise, what are TB worried about? Neither one of Palat, Johnson or Drouin need to be protected because they're all pending RFAs. Lol... yeah, Yzerman wishes that were the case. It's not.</div></div>
Yes I see what you mean, what I was actually thinking is only for unrestricted free agents for a team.
