Eh idk. Marner on a 8 year deal is probably worth more then Jenner plus that pick. Leafs throwing in that 1st and a young player in Robertson is very generous.

Thoroughly explained here from CBJ’s perspective.

If he’s worth so much, feel free to ask for it from any of the other 30 NHL teams.

Marner wont get 13 mill lol. 11.5 at most, the same as Nylander.

I know they had a down year, but Sillinger, Fantilli, Voronokov up the middle is gonna be a nightmare. Guadreau, Johnson, Tarasov on the left, with Marner, Laine, Marchenko on the right, that is very solid. Not to mention Alex Nylander who has seemed to find a new gear in Columbus. They also have a pretty well rounded d-core, with some great young players like Jiricek ready to take the leap. Greaves and Merzlikins aren't the best tandem in the NHL, but on a solid team they would get the job done.

They had a TON of injuries this year, which really stunted their season.

They might be a playoff team sooner then people think.

Sorry not Tarasov on the left Texier lol. There's a lot of "ovs" on this team don't judge me lol.

I mean sure, San Jose will take your perfectly serviceable 25 year old defenseman on a team friendly contract for free. Great asset management.

Read the post. Marner isn’t changing the trajectory of this team. $13M, $11.5M, either/or is overpaid for a guy who won’t be playing on a line with Matthews or Tavares.

Would rather work on paying the young guys than making another straddle move.

You aren’t the only guy trying to make Marner-to-CBJ happen. But you are one of many who have been told it’s not a fit.

Cbj aren’t moving a top 4 pick for an upcoming ufa reguardless of extension.

Marner who comes up tiny in the playoff on a expiring deal is not going to get the haul without an extension that Toornto thinks

Chicago is not paying to take on Toronto’s overpaid, underperforming bottom of the roster players.

Your explanation on the other post has one flaw... Marner is the set up man not the shooter, so the thought would be that he would be the one setting up guys like Laine not the other way around.

    So is/was Johnny.

And if that’s the one flaw, I hope my point is still otherwise made. CBJ don’t want/need him.

Hawks obviously decline. They'll have no problem getting to the cap floor w/ players who actually make the team betrer.
