Changes are coming
I do not believe Florida would want Marner at all. The culture they have built is the complete opposite of Marner. As much as I dislike Florida, they built a team of absolute dawgs and warriors, Marner is a kitten with kids gloves on.

Your explanation on the other post has one flaw... Marner is the set up man not the shooter, so the thought would be that he would be the one setting up guys like Laine not the other way around.

But if it came to it I would just scratch him vs a buyout which is not far off his cap hit.
My guess is he winds up on Ovi's line and helps him get to 895...maybe even on Utah ;)</div></div>
The reason I don't see it is that he is a Toronto kid, grew up in the area, grew up a leaf's fan, drafted there, its always been his home. Tkachuk is different he is a US born player playing in Canada there's not as much of a tie to the community or area is all. I mean obviously anything can happen but just seems unlikely he would waive to leave is all.

Full NMC he can not be waived and would have to agree on any trade. I am sure he will not agree to be traded away from Toronto.

No I do not think they will at all, I was just pointing out the fact that NMC's do not make moving a player impossible is all.

Doesn't he have a 10 team NTC? which means there's 22 teams they can trade him to. PIT or CAL might be 2 of the 10 teams though for all we know.

NMC does not mean they will "never" be traded. Its obviously unlikely but they can still agree to waive those clauses if they see fit. If Treliving was able to convince a guy like Tavares for example that it would be for the betterment of the team if they could trade him and he agreed to waive the clause (again unlikely) then it is do able.

Unless he goes completely off the rail offensively this year I think Robertson stays under 1M until he can really show his worth and stay healthy which is not a knock on him just reality of it. Also I think Nylander will get the full 8 years.

Yeah if you can figure out Klingberg, you do have the premise for a deal there. Might try to squeeze something extra, but that’s definitely not as bad as originally or secondly thought.</div></div>
Oh ya I chose the CLB pick on purpose as it would be the higher pick. Obviously PHI would likely rather their pick go then the CLB for the same reason but this trade is to benefit Toronto and Calgary screw PHILLY (sorry Philly fans).

I would have done the Trade with TOR and then shipped Klingberg to PHI for the 2nd, but since Klingber would cost a 2nd+ to move and would never bring a 2nd or likely agree to be moved to PHI, it doesn’t matter. Would have been easier to understand is all</div></div>
Thats fair and I did it that way on my other one the Zadorov original Toronto side. I just hope Tre can get something done cause if Big Z does want out I would love to have him in Toronto.

I am saying leaf's trade Klinberg and a sweetener, either pick or prospect to someone who is willing to give them a 2nd round pick. Then leaf's trade McCann/Abruzzese and the acquired 2nd for Big Z

I am a leaf's fan and there's no way Calgary is trading Wolf, he is the top goalie in the AHL and probably the best goalie prospect other then maybe Devon Levi. If anything I can see them moving Vladar so Wolf can be brought up to the NHL.

2025 4th round pick (MIN)

Minnesota Wild Acquire:

John Klingberg
This trade happened at the TDL last year when Klinberg was already a -29. I think for just a 2nd round pick with a 3rd and 5th going the other way it is do able and with it only being a 1 year contract its not a big sacrifice for a basement team.
(And as I said in the Leaf's version of this, it does not have to be PHI just a team that has a second and is willing to move it and currently Philly has two seconds and the one i chose was CLB's not there own)

Brodie wasn't traded he left in free agency. Treliving may not have an issue with trading him now.

Sounds like Treliving (Shanny) is keeping the core 4 and will work on improving the D so Willie stays. I could see Brodie traded but Treliving had him in Calgary so that's not a given either.</div></div>
Treliving also let him walk in Calgary when he was a slight bit younger and playing better, so who knows what will happen now. But ya Colton is worth more for what he brings to the team and unless something blows Treliving out of the water (which I don't believe there is much) Marner is not going anywhere. But I think to improve the D significantly a Nylander trade could be possible.
