I'd do that for Dube. I'm sure others will have an issue with it

Novak just out-produced Mangiapane, is a year younger, can play center, and just got re-signed to a better contract than Mangiapane's. Even one-for-one, it's lopsided in CGY's favour. NSH adding a better pick makes no sense.

Dube?! Isn't he basically kicked out of the NHL?

You would trade Harris for someone who is under trial for assaulting someone?

No he doesn't. We don't even know if he'll be allowed to play in the NHL again (probably not next season).

Dube is likely never playing in the NHL again..... even if they settle somehow, no team is touching him.

I don’t think the NHL would approve any deal involving one of the 5.

We will end up losing both Scwindt and Pelletier to waivers in this scenario.

Markstrom for a 2nd would be an absolute steal for you guys.

The Dube trade won't happen, and the Mangiapane trade heavily favors the Flames. I expect he's traded with 50% retention for about a 2nd.

I understand that, and I think he is a pretty good value at $6M. I would probably prefer going with Markstrom Wolf as a tendem for the next 2 years over getting a 2nd. Mostly because I think it would benefit Wolf's development, which would help the team more than a 10% chance of getting a top6 F/top4 D.

In your eyes Bast what does retention price look like? I am just trying to gauge what CGY fans see as the value.

It's very hard for me to gauge because I've seen Marky play great for the entire season. That said, he was terrible in the last year under Sutter.

I see something like Markstrom (50%) + VAN 24’(29th) for NJD 24'(10th). Or simply Marky for a mid first perhaps.

Other Flames fans value him more. I also think that he had the most value in the middle of this season for 3 seasons of Marky at $3M... I would've expected a good young player + 1st for that.

Dude... Dube, along with Carter Hart (Philadelphia Flyers), and Michael McLeod and Cal Foote, (New Jersey Devils) has been charged with sexual assault.

I wouldn't even give an old Habs puck signed by John Scott for him.

We picked Mailloux and everyone started treating him like he actually raped that woman he was with. He shared a photo with his teammates depicting himself (17 at the time) and an 18-year-old woman engaging in a sexual act, yet was treated like the most vile human beings. I remember posts saying the Mtl should be ashamed of picking a rapist, a sexual predator etc... He was 17 years old.. And made a serious error, with a technically adult woman but in no way shape or form did he rape that woman. I remember even the women of Sport TV saying how they were affected that the Habs would do such a thing... For god's sake.. I know he did wrong, it's stupid and he should not do this, but this new generation of kids don't have the social filter of knowing that sharing sex pics with someone is a very smart things these days..

He even needed to show up to meetings with Bettman in order to be able to play in the NHL... WTF.. Some players beat up their wives, kids, other people and don't need to go in front of the dirt bag.

Imagine taking on a guy who was actually charged with rape.. Habs City would explode..
