<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Deltago</b></div><div>Kampf will cost Toronto a first round pick to get rid of. No team wants a 4th line center making $2.4M for the next 3 years.
Both Lilly and Robertson are late round draft pick compensation. Neither have been able to stick in the line up. They are not worth a top 100 draft pick in this stage of their careers.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsmania</b></div><div>Maybe, but Goodrow just got claimed off waivers.
Kampf cap hit is not crazy, I bet lots of bottom six players get 2.5-3 in offseason. A first is an exaggeration.
Leafs supposedly had an offer of a second for Robertson at deadline.</div></div>
Yeah goodrow got claimed and was on a much worse contract then Kampf. A 1st is just exaggeration because he’s on the leafs. Name one time that a team attached a first to a player that’s overpaid by maybe 500k😂

I think that’s a bit much for rutger. He’s a great college player but I don’t agree with giving up that many assets for an unproven nhler. Again, really like the kids game. I’d do a first and minten maybe

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GeauxPreds1</b></div><div>Or the preds can keep saros and sign Reinhart and lindholm for 4 more million than marner is gonna want. The more I think about it I want trotz to stay away from marner. While he is a great player wanting more than 12 just doesn’t work for me. He’ll be the 4th highest paid player in the league his next contract if he gets over 12 with the top 3 being centers. I just don’t think he’s worth that kind of money 11 is the high as I would want to go but even that seems to high for me. If you want to get paid that I would want you to be a goal scorer while he has got 30+ a couple of seasons he gets the majority of his points off assists</div></div>
I agree this is pointless for NSH, but I think Reinhardt gets 10+ and lindholm already turned down a 7x7 so I think they both are gonna end up getting 19+ combined. Mitch will only get 12 maybe 12.5

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>svfsdv</b></div><div>I keep seeing this craziness with Domi.
The whole idea of resigning Domi would be to play him with Matthews as a set up man like he did last year. Any time he got a shift or 2 as a center for the Leafs (there were very very few) he was terrible. People need to stop thinking of him as a center. He isn't. He is a winger. And he certainly wont be a top 2 center. MAYBE in a pinch he could fill in as a bottom 6 center if injuries occur. Which is why he is nice to have around. He would get eaten alive a 2C.</div></div>
7 years is crazy too

That’s the issue my man. Could always try topi and rifai til the deadline. Notice how I said “try to get whatever draft capital for them” no need to waste your time nitpicking. Also I don’t think liljegren for the last pick in the second round is that unrealistic. Could definitely see a team paying a third for him so again, quit the nitpicking

If marner stays
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Marked_Difference</b></div><div>LTIRetired contracts work a little differently. Only the base salary is calculated into any payouts and that is covered by insurance. In reality Shea Webber only costs the insurance company 1MM and that is even cut down. Team may pay something but it is probably just a few thousand dollars to have the 7.8MM of cap hit to use for cap floor flexibility purposes. Utah GM really likes the flexibility that having that contract at his disposal for managing cap issues.
Side note: doubt that Utah wants to get rid of Ingram for scraps...</div></div>
Gotcha. I don’t think Ingram is worse more then a mid grade goalie prospect liljegren and a 3rd and 4th round pick tho

0 chance McCabe is playing anywhere in the league for less than 5m per on his next contract. As I said, the leafs might have to go closer to 6 than 5. You will just have to wait. Remember me when you find out I was right.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>svfsdv</b></div><div>His play in Toronto as a 22-23min a night shut down D man who plays in all situations and against the other teams top players every night.
Think about it like this, if you are McCabe, how do you feel making under 4m while Rielly is making 7.5. You are doing all the PK work. You are playing against the other teams top line. He is being sheltered and and getting the PP time.....
I would McCabe and Pesce on about the same level.
Roy - 81 games 5G 20A +21 TOI 20:53 Age 29 152Hits
McCabe - 73GP 8G 20A +20 TOI 20:39 Age 30 219Hits
You gave Roy 6.25 x 5 in the above example....</div></div>
Reasoning behind Roy getting more is because he is the top 4 RHD that the leafs need badly. There is a huge demand of RHD’s this year and in order to attract one of the top ones in the UFA class, you will have to overpay slightly, especially to get them to come to TOR. Do I think he’s worth 6.25x5? No, not necessarily. But I do think that’s what it will take to get him to play for the leafs. It’s also easier to make deals with players who know the coaching staff and management like Mccabe does. Keep in mind to that McCabe isn’t due until next year so he will be 31 at the time of this new contract so it will take him to age 34, like Roy getting 5 years at age 29. This is when they start to fall off (Brodie). Also, can’t really base contracts off of Reillys contract because everyone knows that’s a Dubas overpay. It’s like basing all forward contracts off of a Jack Hughes contract (8M).

7M for 31yo McCabe who is a decent middle pair defensemen. What warrants a 3 million dollar raise from his last contract in his prime?
