Trades
1.
MIN
  1. Chesley, Ryan [Reserve List]
  2. 2024 1st round pick (WSH)
Additional Details:
17oa. Only if WASH wants someone that slips.
WSH
  1. 2024 1st round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
13oa
2.
MIN
  1. Foerster, Tyson
Additional Details:
Michkov coming over next year makes Foerster more expendable, in my opinion.

  1. Gustavsson, Filip
  2. 2025 3rd round pick (MIN)
3.
MIN
  1. McGroarty, Rutger [Reserve List]

Additional Details:
Both prospects get put in better situations for their futures.

Wash?! Winn?! What are those things?? This is Friedman levels of absurdity and I won't stand for it.

So a 14 overall pick who would likely be picked higher in a re-draft for a 5'10, 180 pound wet 64 overall pick who will likely never play in the NHL?

I wouldn't go that far. Heidt has a pretty good chance of playing in the NHL with the way he is developing. Damn good prospect to be throwing away like that

Now in terms of the Caps trade, it would have to be someone they REALLY want for this to happen. Chesley is looking like a solid future top 4 guy

So who would he go higher than?

Slafkovsky? No.
Nemec? No.
Cooley? No.
Wright? Maybe, but Wright still has the higher ceiling, especially as a center.
Gauthier? No.
Jiricek? No.
Korchinski? No.
Kasper? Unlikely.
Savoie? Probably.
Mintyukov? No.
Geekie? Probably.
Mateychuk? No.
Nazar? No.

He's not the Larkin or Caufield late-faller you guys imagine.

As a Caps fan I'm doing that if Catton or one of the main Dmen are there.

Would you consider Yakemchuk one of the main Dmen? He is who I thought of being there at 13 that the Caps would be all over.

Would you do it for Yakemchuk, Catton, or Eiserman?

I just disagree with all of this. Is the reason you think he’ll never be an NHLer because he was the 64th overall pick? He certainly didn’t look like a 64th overall player this year. I think if you redrafted last years draft he’d be a no-doubt first rounder.

Yakemchuk or Catton I think it’s an easy yes. I think there’s a chance Eiserman falls to 17 anyway but very slim. If the caps want him I’d imagine they’d consider this trade. I think if Minnesota threw in another mid-late pick (3rd or 4th) then it would be an easier yes for the caps.

Heidt's floor is definitely a 3rd liner, and he's most likely to slot in the top 6 as soon as 2024-25. He had 117 points in the WHL for a reason, alongside time on the penalty kill. People forget that he was projected to go in the first round of the 2023 draft by many credible scouts.

And Rutger goes top 10. Still doubt he plays significant NHL games

My guy, I think about 10% of players drafted in the 3rd round (64 is basically 3rd round) play NHL games. Yes there are exceptions but the odds are not good. Especially players that are smaller in stature. To suggest that the Jets should trade McGroarty straight up for this player is bit silly.

You just continue to show you know absolutely nothing about Heidt. The definition of ignorance. Why are you still talking?

Dobber has them both at just below superstar potential.
