Wild in 2025
I like this projection. If Chisholm can get the reps at RD, I think him and Middleton would make a really good future bottom pair. The only things I would change in a perfect scenario would be hopefully we move Spurgeon and Gus to contenders that need them now when we don’t really see a future with them.
I would roll out:
Kirill - Ek - Yurov
Boldy - Rossi - Boeser
Ohgren - Marat - Heidt
Lauko - Trenin - Foligno
Brodin - Faber
Buium - Free Agent RHD
Midd - Chisholm
Bogo
Wall

My Dream Scenario
I love the McGroarty and Heidt prospect swap but I think Jets fans think he’s more valuable than he really is. I think in reality, other teams will be able to outbid MIN and I think just the fact that it’s Winnipeg doing business with MIN, we would have to really overpay.

Flyers
I love the idea of trading for Foerster but I don’t think he is worth Rossi. I’d do either Farabee or Foerster for Gus and a 2nd. With Michkov coming over I would think one of them would be expendable to upgrade another position. Is Philly still in the market for a goalie?

I just disagree with all of this. Is the reason you think he’ll never be an NHLer because he was the 64th overall pick? He certainly didn’t look like a 64th overall player this year. I think if you redrafted last years draft he’d be a no-doubt first rounder.

That’s what I was afraid of. I think Yurov and Wallstedt would be the only prospects I wouldn’t trade straight up. Have to think other teams could come up with better offers than MIN.

Realistic team coming into next year
If I was MIN, I would be interested in:
Rossi —> Guhle + 26oa
or
13oa —> Guhle + 26oa
The more I hear about Guhle, I think he’d be great next to Faber for the next 10-12 yrs.

I wasn’t even going to bother. I don’t think Boldy and Guhle are even remotely close to being similar value.
If MTL plans to take Dickinson at #5, they would have Dickinson, Hutson, and Xhekaj as their LHD future. Which would make Guhle a valuable, expendable asset. I think what I proposed is fair for both sides and helps both. The Gaudreau part was just messing around because I knew he is from Quebec.

Marner will boost teams into the playoffs
Personally I want nothing to do with Marner on the Wild. I would much rather keep Gus as a trade piece and Rossi as a player than spend them on a flashy winger who has a hard time dealing with the physicality of playoff hockey.
I agree he would get Minnesota into the playoffs but that’s about it, in my opinion. And I’m not really interested in just making it to the playoffs to lose in 5 games every year. If he couldn’t win with the Leafs roster, I don’t think he will do better with MIN’s roster.

GabaGuhle
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RazWild</b></div><div>Guhle is not worth the 13th OVA on just is own. And Habs fans are being delusional, if they think he is. A late mid to late 1st, sure, but he's not bringing you back a top 15 pick on his own. Especially if you're asking said team to just trade out of the 1st round entirely.
Then again, this is coming from a fanbase that thinks Guhle is worth Boldy straight up. So, delusional, isn't anything new.
Even then, asking Minnesota to drop 13 spots in exchange for Guhle is a bit much given how weak this draft class is.
So Minnesota is not doing that.
What value Guhle DOES carry, that difference here means the addition of a solid to decent prospect that's in need of a change of scenery. Anything better than that is going to be off the table. That means you're going to get a Beckman, O'Rourke, or Hunt type of prospect.
Habs don't need LD, which means a forward, ergo Beckman. Enjoy.</div></div>
I completely disagree. If Sennecke or Eiserman are there at 13, which I would bet is a real possibility, I think it’s a very even trade for both sides. I would much rather move back to 26 and get a long-term LHD partner for Faber. Those two together would eat A LOT of really quality minutes. If Montreal drafts Dickinson at 5, he is Guhle’s direct, long-term replacement. Then at 13 you’re almost guaranteed to get an Eiserman, Sennecke, or player that slips. This deal helps both teams with where they are trying to go. I love this trade so much.
Obviously you never know what will happen at the draft but based on mock drafts, if Montreal ends up with 5 and 13 they have a 99% chance of some sort of combination of Demidov, Lindstrom, Dickinson, Eiserman, Sennecke, or Yakemchuk. That is worth Kaiden Guhle, in my opinion.

I think I’d do that deal. Would make Brodin more expendable also. Seems like a lot of fanbases would like a shut-down guy like him on their team.

I think I would. I only really know him from the few times he’s played against MIN. What’s Guhle’s next contract looking like? Why are they wanting to move him?
Personally I would even throw in Beckman too. I just don’t see him fitting in long term in MIN. He needs a shot somewhere that he will get a real chance.

Would you do Kane and a 2024 2nd? (Completely dependent on him waiving his NMC)
It seems like Edmonton fans kind of want him gone and I remember him and the organization butting heads at times this year. MIN could use a middle 6 wing place holder. Edmonton could use an upgrade in net (Gus posted a .900 in a “sophomore slump” year). MIN could get the winger in free agency which is why I added the 2024 2nd.
