Insanely lopsided Kappo trade for NYR. Start off by dropping the 2nd from the trade

Braden Schneider would probably be more interesting than Lindgren... We already have Slavin and Orlov on the left side

I don’t think it’s lopsided at all for San Jose to get a former #2 overall pick they can actually play big minutes and revitalize career for 2 UFAs you won’t get more then a 4th for each come deadline time. SJ has multiple early picks too they can afford this for Kakko.

I think RD you guys will be hitting Free agency. I think Lindgren is a perfect LD for you to keep you balanced and not overpay like you would for Skjei. He fits your style as well. With the state tax you can prob sign Lindy in $4m range long term too.

That's a fair point and he could probably a good partner for Morrow to help him

I mean good spin but he's basically a bust underperforming when surrounded by a top notch NYR talent. He'll more than likely tank hard on a terrible SJ team. He's not worth the risk of dumping the 33rd OA pick.

I can see why they wouldn’t want to give up Dumais. However they are loaded with prospect forwards. You can get Jones who can truly be a Significant peice with ice time that we’ll probably regret. Also Garand will be a potential starter replacement for Elvis which I think entices CBJ. JD also familiar with both if he has any input still w/ Waddell

As a fan who watches every ranger game the talent is absolutely there but playing 3rd line most of his career here and no PP time it’s easy to see why he won’t produce. Although he is probably most dynamic guy with size with the puck on the whole team. He needs a change of scenery desperately. He is going to be a good 2nd line RW for years to come I believe that.

Columbus has Greaves and Ivanov in the pipeline who both look pretty solid in the long run, so I don't feel like there is any rush to address the goalie situation if they're just running Merzlikins and Tarasov next year. I don't think personally Dumais will be in Columbus long-term (though he's one of my favourite prospects), but if he's traded, it's probably going to be as part of a quantity-for-quality package, i.e., prospects + more for a high-end player.

No one cares where he was drafted. he's been flat out bad at large stretches and hasn't progressed anywhere near where he was anticipated. He's a solid 3rd line scorer and nothing more. That's where his value is

Rutta you can take, but Sturm isn't going for a measly 4th. that 2nd is 33rd overall as well. Pretty much a 1st and that's a hard pass

You are a stat watcher my friend…Watch Kakko play and you will think otherwise. Many young forwards were not good early in career think Reinhardt , Marcheassualt Etc

Also what too 2nd round picks are unreal there? Not many…

And don’t overrate Sturm now cmon dude .

This is not far fetched point dexter… sharks have made plenty worse deals just look at Hertl man. SJ won’t have to worry about what they’re giving up for the hope they have a RW for now and future.

Lmao Point Dexter? You have no idea what you're talking about.

1. Your two examples are the two most notable late bloomers. The MASSIVE majority are the Zadina's of the world and don't pan out. beyond that, at the time Marchy was traded as an INCENTIVE to take Reilly in the expansion. They literally didn't get value back for him. Reinhart already had 4 40+ point seasons including a 50 pt and 60 pt season in the same time frame as Kakko.

2. Players taken in the very late 1st/early 2nd range: Rakell, Jenner, Kempe, Barbashev, Demko, Marcus Pettersson, Aho, Carlo, Cernak, Hintz, Kyrou, DeBrincat, Frost, Romanov, Pinto, Alex Vlasic, Peterka, Faber. That's just looking through very quickly, all of whom I'd take over Kakko

3. It's funny you call me a stat watcher for saying Kakko's not that good and then then say I'm overvaluing Sturm. I guarantee I've seen much more of Kakko than you have Sturm. And I don't blame you, who wants to sit through Sharks games

4. if you think Grier didn't do unbelievable with the Hertl trade then you don't understand the context of that deal. Hertl was injured, 30 years old and had 6 1/2 years left on his deal with a full NMC. Grier was able to not just move him and over 80% of that contracts cap hit, but get back a very good 2-way Center prospect and an unprotected 1st.

5. They have Zetterlund on the Right side for now and the future. Coming as soon as next year they have, Gushchin, Smith, Musty can play the right side, possible 14th overall this year, Hulttunen. They'll be more than fine without Kakko

You are a stupid idiot for real if you’d rather keep Sturm & Rutta & a 2’d when you have another 2nd that for a chance at Kakko.

Tough sell tryna tell me Kakko is Zadina you clearly don’t watch hockey you fool

Nobody cares where Kakko was drafted, he’s a bust for what he was talked up to be. He’s a third liner. Never scored at a .50 point per game pace. Not that great defensively either to make up for the lack of offense or consistency. 33 overall for him alone is an overpay, let alone add in quality depth pieces.
