Anaheim passes, Pat Verbeek wants a top 6 RW not LW like Laine, And besides Laine has missed some 150 games in the past 6 years for an average of 25 games per season. His value is pretty low right now.

Wait, you mean straight up Zegras for Laine? I trust you're not heading to California anytime soon.....

Lol

What do you think each of those two are worth individually?

Zergras to Columbus…maybe Kent Johnson and another piece like Corson Ceulemans, Guillaume Richard or Andrew Strathman

Laine to Anaheim…maybe CBJ could add a piece to derisk the trade and get the Edmonton pick….but more likely a couple of mid-picks

I feel like this was pretty extensively covered a few months ago: Johnson and Zegras are too similar players for a team to have both, and both are too young for either team to give up on/need a change of scenery. A swap makes sense, but like...3 years from now if both aren't working.

Even if a Laine-for-Zegras swap made sense, Columbus needs to add for the younger, cheaper, cost-controlled, lower-risk player. That much is obvious. It's a big no from Anaheim.

I get the premise here bc Zegras has been very underwhelming, however, Laine and Zegras are better to stay put and try to regain some form first. Maybe a year from now this trade could be more closer or even further away but right next w this is clearly a no for Anaheim.
