both teams, probably. Tkachuk doesn’t fit Chicago’s timeline and the pick doesn’t fit Ottawa’s

Chicago says we shouldn't be rushing the rebuild and would rather the 18 year old Demidov/Levshunov

Sens don't trade their irreplaceable captain

If the Sens do that then everyone not named Timmy, Ridly, Sanderson, Pinto have to go afterwards lol. Would love Demidov, Lev or Lindstrom tho 😭

Ottawa says hell no and Chicago should be all over that! Brady tkachuk will only be 25 next season. He fits the rebuild just fine. You can't have an entire team 20 and under.

Tkachuk turns 25 in September, the issue would be that by the time 5 years pass in the rebuild, he'll only have 2 years left on his contract and he might ditch them as soon as possible. If they have no fear of losing him and they don't want to draft Levshunov or Silayev, might as well do it. Much easier to get a Demidov type player than to get one like Tkachuk, Levshunov or Silayev. Hawks might not even see Demidov until he's 24 or26.

Don't think they would do it but Ottawa could really use a RHD like Levshunov in their prospect pool. He won't be ready for years, but their core is young. Their 1C is 22 and their future 1LHD is 21, the pick would fit just fine. If they can trade the 7th OV for a top-line winger it would soften the blow of losing Tkachuk. If there is fear that Tkachuk may want out, it could be something they consider but I think they would want a bit more.

Edit:

If Davidson could finesse his way into acquiring the 7th OV as well, would definitely be worth it. Maybe something like 20th OV + 33rd OV + Murphy (50% retention if needed).

I'm not the biggest fan of Brady to begin with. But putting that aside, neither team is interested, imo.
