Lee and Campbell
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wojohawk</b></div><div>I think the Isles trade favors the Hawks to much and the Oil trade is not enough.
My counteroffers:
Lee, 2024 Isles 1st, Wahlstrom for Hawks 24 2nd, Phillips, and Joey Anderson
Campbell (1 million retained), Oilers '25 1st, Holloway for the worst of the 24 LA/Van 2nd</div></div>
I see no issues with that trade tbh.

Blackhawks 202425
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Snowhawk18</b></div><div>The problem with the pick swap is the Islander pick is slated to be # 18, Tampa’s pick with them being knocked out last night is sitting at #20 with a chance to move to #19 if Vegas goes on a playoff run… it literally could be one spot difference, so essentially the Hawks would be eating Lee’s $7m cap hit for two seasons for basically a 2nd round draft pick. To me that’s not enough and I would insist on the Islanders 2024 1st round pick.</div></div>
Good point, I thought they were slated at 17, I do think that changes things slightly... but I would still be motivated to do a pick swap even for a single spot in an Anders Lee trade.

take out the retention and its a deal</div></div>
Thats not the worst thing in the world for the hawks, and if it gets it across the finish line I think they would make that change. I am tempted to ask for more if its the full 7 million dollar cap hit though. Maybe another pick swap or late rounder?

Blackhawks 202425
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Snowhawk18</b></div><div>The flip of 1st round picks has little to no value since they could quite literally be consecutive picks. And a 2nd round pick on its own is not enough enticement to get the Hawks to eat two years of Lee at $7m per.
I counter with Lee and the Islanders 2024 1st round pick to Chicago and in return the Hawks send back a signed Bedard stick.</div></div>
This seems inspired by my post from earlier, and I will say that I would accept these changes. Moving up in the draft has been very difficult to do in recent years, and I think the value is slated at 17 vs 20 right now? Getting a 2nd round pick and a pick swap to take on a good veteran would be good business for Chicago.

Another Playoff Run
Not that it matters in the grand scheme of things, as Chicago fans have mentioned they would accept this trade previously... but a 25 pick is preferred because we already have 3 2nds in 26.

That would be like trading a first rounder for Tyler Johnson 2.0

If KD gets Trade aggressive
I am all for the Necas trade, the only issue is that Carolina would be dumb to sell him for that low.
Also, whoever you are targeting in the later first round probably drops to our pick at 34 anyways, so no need to make the trade and pay the premium if moving up to the first round.

Marner to NJD
Roos isn’t in the hawks plans in all likelihood, and so I guess they accept to take a flyer on Robertson. To be honest, the hawks are probably not interested in underperforming forwards as they strive to make next years team concretely better. I could take it or leave it.

Chicago wont be bailing you out of that contract, and based on Kyle Dubas comments on Graves to end the season I believe that he knows that the graves will have to show significant improvement next season for any sort of move to be possible.

Exactly, I am not advocating for this move whatsoever, but naturally with how the playoffs have gone for Toronto I think its worth exploring.

Considering where the Blackhawks are in their rebuild I'm sure you can appreciate how our situation is different. I actually would prefer that the hawks wait a year and try to get him in free agency if at all. In any case, I do think this offer is the best the hawks can do to fit the leafs potential needs. Sure, I could offer you a first round pick this year or next, I could offer a prospect that is a couple years away, but what good is that for the leafs? They need help now, and the only way the hawks could do that is by offering young NHL ready players.

I don’t think this trade in its current form would be good for the hawks. I believe getting a player like Mitch Marner would be good in the short term, but potentially harmful in the longer term at his acquisition cost. I’d say take a wait and see approach.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get his QO, at least in terms of what he earned this year. I’m all for the hawks laying the groundwork for an extension down the road by paying him over value right now. Not too much of course, but I think 2 X 2.1

See, the thing is… Jones is still good albeit overpaid by maybe 2.5 million. If you put him on a team like Dallas where he wouldn’t have to do it all, he would probably be an elite number 2 D.

No Big Acquisitions Yet Watch and Wait for 2025 Off-Season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JK74</b></div><div>Gignac and Norlinder would be of zero interest to Chicago and Ylönen is just a guy at this point that'll never crack a legit top six. So essentially the trade is Dach for a 2nd and 5th which seems decent value. Chicago is high on him but he has the same issues his brother has with staying healthy. When he is healthy though he's a very effective power forward. I don't hate this trade minus the three players headed Chicago's way but I think they decline in hopes that Dach can stay healthy.</div></div>
Yeah, these kind of quality vs quantity trades don’t occur with prospects like Dach. Theres not many comparables, and obviously the jabs fans want him because his last name is Dach, but if they want him I’m going to stick with an overpayment price of a first round pick.
For the record I think Colton Dach will be a better pro than Kirby Dach, not as skilled, but more effective in what is likely a middle six role. I think he makes the team next year on a third line role.
