no no no no and no. We trade him, and we are making a big mistake. Ya the guy has his problems, but say he scores in OT tonight, would u even be on here? Buddy is 26 entering the prime of his career with a NMC, we would be lucky to get a 2nd

1. Gibson is washed and not worth 6m. Fowler is older and a LD is the last thing we need.

2. Everyone knew Jones wasn't worth his contract when Chicago gave it to him. Pass on that

3. Jiricek isn't being traded

4. Pulock is an interesting target. Doubt Lou moves him though. And Sorokin is a non starter in any trade, you gotta know that.

5. Hall for Larsson was bad, why are we doing Marner for Larsson? Wright still has a lot to prove

Seattle and Columbus are definitely the coolest

Idk any values, but I think Seattle might say no. Columbus, though…. Makes sense for Toronto, not sure if CBJ is trying to add more. New GM probably gonna re-tear it down

1. if ur still judging goalies playing behind god awful teams in isolation then idk what to say. leafs only left d signed next year is the fraud rielly and benoit

2. not worth his contract but still better than any defenceman this team has had in my lifetime. will also improve playing on a team that isn't designed to suck

3. depends what the new management group in columbus thinks of him. tossup at this point, would be in a similar vein to the johansen for jones trade if it happened

4. i would have agreed but the isles really left sorokin out to dry this year. maybe he wants out, maybe lou and roy want him out. who knows

5. probably the weakest of the trades i'd agree, would all hinge on wright being a boom or bust

probably the weakest return out of these for toronto but i wouldn't hate it. seattle may need to toss in a late 1st or a b-tier prospect since wright is still a total boom or bust

Has Gibson shown anything to prove he's worth 6m? He's entering his 30's. Just keep the assets and sign Stolarz in FA at half the cost lol.

No he's not. He wasn't worth his contract and still isn't. Trading top forwards for overpayed dmen is a terrible formula.

Given the paper thin RD market, I'm gonna go with the assumption they keep him. The last thing they need are more wingers.

SEA likely declines. More because Wright seems to be stepping into his own based on the limited sample size from the end of the regular season. SEA likely wants to see him in SEA for a full season before deciding what next to do with him.

Between Wright, Berniers, and Goyette they have there top 2 centers, it's just a matter of who is where, but only time will tell.

1. stolarz lol. if the leafs try and run a patchwork goalie tandem again i'll k*ll myself. woll is made of paper mache

2. nah ur wrong

3. i would probably agree tbh, marner is basically just gaudreau that backchecks

Do you have any proof Jones has even been remotely good since his payout? He's been playing at like half of what he's worth and isn't magically going to spring into action the second he's moved.

We're better off running a patchwork tandem then overpaying for has-beens

NSH doesn't make that trade. Less to do with value or anything, and more to do with Marner isn't going to get the money he wants in NSH. NSH isn't giving him 13mil, so it doesn't make sense for them to trade arguably their best player for a someone who won't resign in NSH.

he'd probably take a shave off that since taxes are presumably better in nashville than toronto and he gets to play in a low pressure environment with his buddy ror. lets say he falls between 11-12, why wouldnt nashville give him that? are they up against the cap?

trotz has been trying to move him since he got the job, he's just hoping he'll be able to snag a jeannot 2.0 return for him. idk what team would beat marner for saros considering the teams looking for him are contenders trying to make it work with a first and a b-tier prospect like nj

NSH might give him 11. NSH has plenty of cap (about 19mil), and taxes are better in NSH, as their is no state income tax, but they have several RW prospects that arent far away or in the case of Evangalista, just finished his rookie season. The bigger thing is that NSH desperately needs a top 6 center and a 1RD, and they really don't have one in either category that will be ready till at least 25-26 to step into those shoes. Because of that, I expect NSH to be in on Montour during the offseason, especially given the Burnette connection. Meaning if Saros is moved it's likely for a center.

I wouldn't rule out Marner, as a line of Forsberg - ROR - Marner sounds great, but I just don't think Trotz pulls the trigger on moving Saros for a player NSH already has an abundance of talent in.

For me the big gain is the cap space...plus a great RHD on a team friendly deal...Wright is a throw in and who knows or cares really...zero risk for Toronto

Seattle gains a top RW who probably has agreat season and could be flipped for a lot at the TDL

There is no Marner to Columbus scenario that makes sense. He doesn't want to be in Columbus and would never extend there. His refusal in the past to even consider an offer sheet confirmed as much. He would not be the kind of return the team would need for their only promising RD prospect either.

that's fair although i think marner's superb defensive game makes him a little more valuable than a typical winger. evangelista is a great prospect who i think could become anywhere from a 60-80pts player but marner is just an echelon above that.

montour could be an interesting pickup for nashville but i think considering you're halfway rebuilding right now getting a #1 rhd through the draft would be the ideal outcome for the preds. by the time you're in a genuine contention window montour would likely be on the downturn.

it really depends on if trotz wants to base his return off current positional need or not, as i think the chances of the preds getting a better return for saros than marner purely from a value perspective is unlikely

On value, I take that as ANA. If they think they can re-sign him and want to.

However, Fowler has a 4 team trade list, TOR isn’t on it

Gibby outright said he isn’t playing for TOR, and has a NTC

Yes they both say no but I don’t want to pay marner whatever he is going to be asking for honestly since we have our entire young core to resign in 2 years
