Montour gets less, also Reaves if sent down is probably more likely.

No Marner trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>lol. You try to offer CHI a 5th to take Kampf and see how that goes. Robertson is NOT bringing back a 2nd. Jarnkrok is fine and could probably bring back a mid to late round pick, or at least FC's, but I don't think he would cost TOR to move.</div></div>
Not all to the same team.
As an essentially rookie, Robertson had 14 goals in 54 games, while playing very very very limited minutes, if given opportunity he could be a 25 goal scorer. Robertson could definitely fetch a late second rounder. Also it was stated “if sent with a late round pick”
Robertson and a 5th for a 2024 second from a non-bad team.
Also sorry, I was trying to say Jarnkrok could get a 4th, and maybe another late pick like a 7th. Or something like it.

Honestly, Washington probably wins this trade. But the amount of money Ovi will make the organization makes Washington decline.

No Marner trade
Take out the third, and add pieces going to the leafs,
Kampf at max needs like a 5th to get rid of, Robertson could fetch a second* (if leads are sending a later pick as well) and Jarnkrok a 4th* (maybe another late pick)

Minnesota can’t afford to trade a centre for Marner, also can’t afford to pay Marner 11

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swinny</b></div><div>and why?</div></div>
Mainly the Josh Anderson contract, and Marner could fetch more than this IMO. Also in division blockbuster trades are rare.
Also didn’t see it originally, but I can’t see Sammy coming back to Toronto. Wish him the best
I do like the idea of Marner for a physical D, a RHD, a pretty good pick, and a middle/top 6 forward.
Just not sure this package would be enough

Tell me a logical reason to trade mitch marner
Largest reasons are to:
- Clear Cap space
- Refill prospect/pick pool
- Add a 2RHD and a Middle 6 Forward
(Not saying it’s the best decision, just these would probably be the reasons)
All things considered I don’t honestly hate the move.
Either go straight for roster players trade (Like a Matthew Tkachuk trade) or one where you get a ton of picks and a defencemen. Such as someone Adam Larsson, and for the leafs to get younger, Shane Wright. Although I doubt Seattle would do that. With new cap space I would sign a Dylan Demelo level RHD then an offensive D like Skjei, or Montour.

Seattle and Columbus are definitely the coolest
Idk any values, but I think Seattle might say no. Columbus, though…. Makes sense for Toronto, not sure if CBJ is trying to add more. New GM probably gonna re-tear it down

Seems unlikely considering Buf probably really wants RHD, not sure they would trade Joker.
Also there’s only 3 right handed players on the entire team.

Marner to Utah
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hammerwise</b></div><div>Weak season: If all you want is offense then exhibit A is the Leafs/Marner in the playoffs. If all you want is pts, he did not have a weak season.
Weak season in which he did offensively produce, but all leaf fans are looking to trade him for every other aspect of his game. As an expiring 11mil UFA, probably getting 13+ on his next contract, I'd want something more than just a 101 pt pace on an offensive powerhouse team with 2 other players who can put those pts up.
Is he the weakest link? No. But according to most, he is in one single player everything that is wrong with the Leafs.
He is a great offensive player, and IMO directly responsible for Matthews great offensive year, but most see him as the fall guy and that Matthews can do no wrong. He could work well on other clubs, and IMO, Leafs have a defensive issue, then a coaching issue, with some self serving entities, not marner alone as the culprit. But if pts is all that matters and the same disappointing result and mental "fragility" dont bother you then sure, hes/the team had a great year</div></div>
I agree, just it’s not 100% correct to say he had a weak season
