Bostons top 4 is set next year. They might try to upgrade in free agency, but they are not doing this.

They have about 12 million. They could sign a premium free agent and do this deal, but Pittsburgh shouldn’t want to retain for 5 years without giving Graves a second year to see if it was just an adjustment

I see OEL as the guy they target in free agency. I prefer Skjei but OEL will be cheaper and not have to give a long term contract to. 3 years max.

Columbus declines. It doesn't make sense to get rid of a goalie approaching 30 with term for another goalie approaching 30 with more term.

I can definitely see OEL. I think Skjei is going to get paid.

I would have never known you love Korpi wink

I'd take a run at Elvis if I was in Ottawa's position.

I've said before but I'm bored rn so I will again. this trade is definitely reasonable. a lot of the parts makes sense and as you say, lets the Sens keep their 1sts. one thing is that getting rid of Korpisalo isn't a major concern for the Sens, since his contract is very buyout-friendly, so they might not be too interested in a big deal that involves them giving up picks to dump him. other is that the Sens would probably try pretty hard to get the Penguins to take a prospect other than Kleven. regardless, this is interesting and not particularly one-sided for either team, as far as I can see

just a side note but his contract buyout is honestly pretty un-friendly imo. about 1 million in cap over the first 2 years, then its about 9m over the next 6 years. Not that 1.3m per year is totally un-doable with the cap theoretically rising, but its probably not worth buying out for at least a couple years

personally I'd be much more concerned about the combination of his cap hit now and him actively playing for the Sens than a much lower cap hit going farther into the future
