Lets say we do win Bedard
Man if Van wins Bedard they will absolutely keep Miller as the have Bedard for 3 years on ELC. Why not play him on a stacked team at C? Or move Miller to wing? Miller, Petey and Bedard would make Van a contender, with a few tweaks to the D.

Future
I like some of these moves but there are also head scratchers. 3.5x5 for Podz a very rich at this stage. Burying OEL is way worse than buying him out if you want to contend that year capwise. Liljegrin is good, maybe even possible. And the bottom 6 looks very weak. That's where the OEL money could be spent for sure. D core is obviously stronger, though.

When Luke Schenn wants to kick your ass as a teammate that says all I need to know about you. There is video of Connor Garland skating in front of Schenn to stop him from doing so to Miller. . Then that I know more than the coach moment a screaming at the goalie to get out of the net when "Bruce there it is" is telling him to stay until the human turnover machine gets the puck out of his own end bad teammate.</div></div>
That's a weird rabbit trail. We are talking trade value. Not people who Schenn likes. Whatever your level of like or dislike for Miller he is and was worth more than Ross dude.

Sooo... You think he's worth JT Miller? A high 2nd is fair. Or Beau. But not both.

The trades all have reasonable value except the overpay for Ross. Beauvillier with retention should be enough, or the 2nd, but not both.
This also keeps them in cap hell for a long time. Retaining 2 on Beau and adding 4x5 on Barbashev, another expensive winger, seem like lateral moves at best. Better to keep Beau who has less term.
If Van does clear some space they need to keep it to resign EP. If they spend they should focus on D. And they should be keeping their high picks.

I mean, I think it's a reasonable offer for Myers compared to most people on this site. I just wonder if VAN doesn't pay his bonus and try to get away without having to pay to get rid of him. When you consider there's no retention, its probably worth trading down from a 3rd to 5th to shed 6 mil.

AGAIN, not talking about Vancouver needs but the ridiculous value you were setting up...
Unless you are talking about a playoffs team 1st, a prospect like Thomson and a non-star goalie
Following the NHL for decades teaches you that goalies don't have comparative value as star forwards</div></div>
Reading helps man. The trade being discussed is Demko for Debrincat, so obviously Debrincat's value has to be close to Demko's if you're defending the trade. Try and keep up.

Hold on. OTT just paid a 1st, 2nd and 3rd for Debrincat... Now you're saying he isn't worth something like that?
Its the wrong package for the Canucks. Its laughable to think VAN does that kind of move. They dont need him. They need picks, RD and some sort of goalie if they move Demko. The very last thing they want is another expensive winger.

Canucks will take the return worthy of a star or keep him. No upside to the trade for the Canucks. Also, Demko had some bad games, but rebounded after returning from injury, and played behind a terrible defense. The guy is legit. There are GMs who get that.
