Once VAN pays TMyers signing bonus he won't be a large burden to a team like AZ. They'll likely take him off their hands for free. AZ won't pay anything for him, but VAN won't need to pay anything either. He'll only make $1M for the season after that bonus is paid by VAN.

I don't think his contract will be as easy to move as VAN fans seem to think. Actual salary is definitely a consideration, and that $1M is affordable, but taking on that cap hit under a flat cap is something that could still be leveraged heavily even by the poorest of teams. It'll definitely take significantly more coming from CHI if they really want that 1st, though. Also, watching the Seattle TBirds as much as I have this year as well as the WJC-20, I see Allan as someone who plays a VERY translatable game and is largely undervalued.

As a defense 1st guy, I could see that. His offense is limited, but I'm personally ok with that. Not everyone should have the puck on their stick at all times. Hjalmarsson 2.0 would be a blessing.

His offense is a lot better than he gets credit for, though, too. He has shown he can do both, and I think with time he should be able to put it all together. Regardless, yeah, I think even as a mainly defensive dman, he will have success at the pro level.
