Description
Per David Pagnotta there is a lot of trade interest in Mario Ferraro. Interested teams include Toronto, Nashville, Calgary, Carolina, and Chicago. He thinks GMMG is asking for a 1st + a top prospect + maybe another high asset.

This post proposes various Mario Ferraro trades.

Most teams' fanbases will laugh and decline but like it or not they're missing the point that this is the asking price and not far off from what it'll be that Ferraro nets.

Just because it's the asking price doesn't mean any of these teams will pay it

Like I said, it's not far off from what it'll be. It won't be what Grier's asking, but it'll be close to it. So for Calgary's deal it'd be a 2nd+Wolf instead of a 1st+Wolf, in TOR's case it'd be a 1st+Liljegren for Ferraro+a 3rd+but also probably 2 of Kunin/Bordeleau/Wiesblatt/Benning.

I'd like to see what Holtz could do with more opportunity and reunited with Eklund, but his trade value has certainly fallen over the past year.

If the Shark's can't get at least a 1st they should keep Ferraro, he's a valuable part of the team.

Ferraro is ranked like 750th in every metric that matters for defenders and has gotten worse every year. I wouldn't give you a 7th for him. Holtz however has improved every year and looked actually looked solid minus his random bonehead moves that had lindy benching him. AND you have NJ trading down lmfao

When Ferraro land a 1st (in the off season, when teams can address their needs via FA 🤯), we’ll know the league has gone mad. Definition of meh - 2nd/3rd pairing LHDs on a competitive team is the most highly populated position in the league - nowhere near a 1st 😂

Way too early to call Holtz a bust, IMO. His stock has definitely fallen but he scored 16 goals in his age-21 season and was point-per-game at 20 in the A. A project sure but bust/dump seems too harsh.

Leafs don't need a LHD. There are numerous LHD available at all times, no use giving up a first and more for a two years of medicority

Any team can save the assets and get a top-4 Dman in FA. I like Ferraro but he's not a unique commodity.

I think Ferraro gets a first and a good prospect but not a top prospect. That seems like too much, even with him being on a good contract. We'll see though.
