Think he'll make the NHL? A recent Fear the Fin article was skeptical.
Kind of like with Bords and Gush, I don't see the Sharks keeping both Havelid and Cagnoni. Similar tiny offensive defensemen. Cagnoni seems like the better of the two so far.
IRL I hope we get a good look at Havelid, Bystedt and Edstrom with the Cuda next year. The SHL must be a pretty tough league, cuz our prospects there are not lighting it up like our prospects in North America. A man's league, not a kid's league. That does make it harder to compare Havelid to Cagnoni.
Guess I should be patient with both Bords and Havelid. It's just hard to find any Sharks worth trading on this site that we'd actually want to trade. 🙃
Sharks might also have a choice to make between Bystedt and Edstrom someday. Two very similar players.

Yep.
Chmelevski signed a new contract in Russia, so no real loss. Guess I shouldn't give up on Havelid yet.

How Much For Necas
I like how the Sharks sign Skjei away from the Canes then trade Ferraro to them to replace Skjei.
I think this offer is fair.
Skjei might be overpaid.

Great post title!
Like the attempt to trade up to #8.
Schmidt is a good capdump addition. Probably need to move one of our other D to make space for him.
Interested to see Toronto fans' reaction to this trade.

D for Now and Future
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Letsgosharks</b></div><div>I 100% agree with you and tbh I have kind of changed my opinion on what we should do this offseason. My original opinion was just like yeah let's keep ranking and keep developing the prospect pool, but look how far that's gotten buffalo over the last 10 years. This is the bottoming out year, imo we should definitely make some moves this summer, like bring in a 1 dman. I would grab an RD and still run with the left side of Ferraro - Muk - Thrun,</div></div>
Your original comment was probably correct: At this point in the rebuild the Sharks should be trying to acquire picks, not trade them away. Especially picks in the first 3 rounds. Maybe we don't really need a P1 D yet. Just tank along until our prospects develop. Or trade for a P1D later when we're closer to contention. In the meantime sign a couple P2D UFA's so the Sharks aren't putrid and a bad environment to develop prospects in. I got interested in the idea that Toronto or other disappointed early round playoff exit teams might trade away decent D for cheap. But we can do that in a few years. Jumped the gun. Time to focus on improving the D through the draft and UFA's.

Not if we want to get better. We have five 3 pair level RD: Rutta, Addison, Benning, Burroughs, Emberson. Let's keep Emberson, ship out the rest, and bring in a true 1RD and 2RD.

Would be cool
Hronek would be cool! P1RD, only 26. He's been fun to watch in the playoffs. Good trade target. I just can't see the Canucks trading him.
Debrusk is a good add.
Interesting starting Celebrini at 3C so he can break in slow and dominate.
I'd be reluntant to put Bords (5'10", 175 lbs) and Arvidsson 5'9", 180 lbs) on the same line.
I'm not as high on Bords and Rutta as the OP.
I don't think Rutta is P2 anymore. Out of Rutta, Benning, and Burroughs, Benning has probably played the best for the Sharks. However they are all probably P3 at best.

Right? Of course the chance of the Sharks signing one of Stephenson, Zadorov, or DeMelo, let alone all three, is slight, you gotta dream.

D for Now and Future
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Letsgosharks</b></div><div>it do be a fantasy site, but yeah not very smart</div></div>
Yeah. The 1st should have been lottery protected. I figured Vegas wouldn't fall that far.
My thinking was like this: The Sharks need a true P1 D. Won't be able to outbid better teams for Montour. Nothing in the pipeline. Surer bet to trade for a P1 than to draft one. Toronto may be looking to move Rielly relatively cheaply this summer. Vegas 1st is more likely #25+. Rielly might still be good when the Sharks are coming out of their rebuild. Or the Sharks could flip him. Reilly as a stopgap until the D we draft at #10 is ready to take over.

But this is pretty fair. Marner would obviously be flipped at the deadline and possibly get back more that what they're giving up here, while helping Celebrini develop.</div></div>
Hard to flip him since we don't have a retention spot left.

LOL great strategy. However, if Couture does play in the playoffs the Sharks ask for a conditional 2nd round pick in addition to those 3 players.

I used this calculator to estimate the value: https://soundofhockey.com/2022/06/06/examining-the-value-of-nhl-draft-picks/
Obviously it varies with the quality of the players available for each pick. How about if the Sharks offered picks #14, #33, and #42 for #7?

Like these moves overall. Stephenson is a good addition, especially is Couture doesn't come back.
Palat could add veteran leadership. I saw a ACGM post from a NJD fan offerring to trade Palat AND Holtz to the Sharks for a 2nd. I'd take that deal.

Agreed, but I think the CBJ fan's point was that they feel about Jiricek the way that we feel about Will Smith: He's their star of the future and he's not available.
