I just offered Montour 7 year 7.85 mil deal to come to San Jose, and in my make believe world sharks got Celebrini and Eiserman in the draft that should be tempting enough to sway him lol.

Cam's welcome to come back to Columbus once his contract is up, but until we figure out the winger situation and have a spot for him as the 13th forward, we're not looking to add him or pay any assets to acquire him. Probably just a 1-year deal next season to retire as a Jacket, if that.

I love perfetti. Think he can become a point a game player. But the Jets should seriously consider that. You get a player that still has room to grow who is locked in at 5M where perfetti is unknown. If I was in Chevy's seat I would consider it.

I get what you’re saying, but 1 year at 3.8 or so for 35 points for a 6th round pick that isn’t much of an asset for a team that it isn’t even really a little bit close to competing any time soon. It is also for 1 year as well and I think could be a good morale booster for a team that needs it badly

Yeah the money and the asset isn't the problem, it's that we already have a logjam of bottom-6 forwards and can't get our prospects playing time. Ahead of him on the depth chart based on ability/need for playing time are JG, Fantilli, Laine, Marchenko, Sillinger, Voronkov, Chinakhov, Johnson, Jenner, Kuraly, Texier.

And that's assuming you'd scratch Oliver, Nylander, and Danforth first, and start Brindley and Malatesta in the AHL. He's at best the 12th forward, and more likely 14th or 15th, barring additional moves.

I think if you were sending him to a contender looking for a quality leader and versatile depth guy, one that's willing to take a chance on an oft-injured player, there's no reason you couldn't retain half and get a 6th for him. I just don't think there's roster space for him this year in Columbus. We just have to trim the fat first.

I think the Jets would look to fill a hole if they move Perfetti. A lateral move for a more expensive player doesn't improve anything.

I dont quite agree with this being a lateral move plus player coming with term and control helps immensely for WPG

Not really. Perfetti's contract is probably less than Farabee's. It is a lateral move though, because you wouldn't be offering to take a loss on the deal of you thought Farabee was more valuable.
