I like the idea of Oliveri, I dont think Bahl is needed (use him to go elsewhere) a mid round pick. They are roughly a wash in term and dollars. If you are moving Holtz (I'd keep him) put him in a G pkg
I am not a fan of Cousins, but see why you did it. If you have Hague coming over to swap out Bahl (TZ will not complain about the size@ least!), send Bahl to SJ for Sturm. Jake addition makes thinks real tight for Luke getting his bump. I still like trading for Colton. Is Macdermid redundant with the heft you've added? Like alot of these!

So you trade a useless third pairing defenseman and one of your useless fourthliners for Columbus's useful fourthliner? Pass.

Has Holtz's value dropped that much??? For a 3rd I'd be interested.

Bahl can be useful. He was a beast in the playoffs last year. He sort of regressed. I'd be willing to throw in a pick for Oliver. Hatakka is just a better version of Bahl all around. Think of Bahl as a Jake Bean replacement.

Not useless...just struggled with d-zone exits, hampered our transition game.

That doesn't help Columbus at all, unfortunately. Bean will probably be non-qualified since his QO is too high for his production, but a defenseman who can't get out of the zone just blocks a roster spot that will be needed for a kid to get reps. It's not like Columbus will be competitive next season.

What if you dump Boqvist or Ivan P?

Olivier is still more useful for the roster. Especially in a division with Rempe and Wilson. Like yeah, we don't know who the next GM will be, but in my opinion, Olivier has more value to the team than Texier or Danforth because of that toughness. I'd move either of them out to keep him around.

Now, if we're talking minor pick for Bahl... maybe? He is cheap. And they are likely to move Provorov, but unless that happens, no thank you. Boqvist is also likely gone, although he is a RHD who only plays 50ish games a season, so not really competition for the same roster spot. Again, who knows what the new GM will do, but I think it's more likely they non-tender Bean and use 3LHD to give Svozil and Mateychuk protected NHL minutes to get their feet wet. Mateychuk is absolutely dominating the WHL playoffs right now and nearly made the Jackets last fall as it is. I'm not opposed to like a third or a fourth for him, I just don't know if I see the point, I guess.

If we do that it'll be because Mateychuk is available early. Or because someone else is willing to pay for them ahead of schedule and we have a deal lined up on a UFA defensive defenseman we could really use. Either way, Bahl is not a desirable target.

That's what I thought but I haven't followed him closely this year.
