Personally I don’t see Ferrari returning a 1st; not worth that imo

If that's the best offer for Barabanov then the Sharks re-sign him. Hell I'd rather lose him to free agency then selling insanely low. He has points in every game since coming back from injury.

The way Duke has been playing same goes for him. He could easily get a 2nd if not more if he's hot around the deadline.

I think Mario went from being super underrated to be being way overrated and is back to being very underrated. People seem to think he's absolute garbage now (especially the annoying pessimistic Sharks fans)
He's been very good this season on a very good cap hit and is a great leader and locker room guy.

As he d really like the Barabanov TB doesn't have the cap space, and this doesn't really address the issue TB has been having.

Appreciate the feedback, but point about locker room / leadership doesn’t carry much weight imo. Leafs - like most top teams - have a leadership group in place so no one expecting TDL acquisition to become a leader. In the end Mario is undersized LHD that probably slots in between 2&3 LHD, for which there are lots of options. Just not worth a 1st imo, but time will tell

too much for Ferraro too little for Barabanov
Hoping Duclair to net something better than this assuming he plays better, but he has been pretty meh

I'd keep Barby if that's what's being offered.

I would add that NHL people seem to value him highly (Ferraro has garbage numbers but he is being played as a #1D when he is not that) and it was reported the trade will be expensive and we know the sharks are willing to wait for a first because of last year. Whether or not this is right for leafs idk but if Ferraro is moved it will likely be for a first

Absolutely no chance the leafs are doing that, one of our top prospects and 2 crucial picks (for Tanev,Hanifin,Etc) for a bad defenseman thats worse than some of our callups
