Peeke would be a better fit for what Buffalo needs over Boqvist and even then, I think they'd look elsewhere for more experienced options

Possibly. Buffalo has been extremely patient and Boqvist is talented but has been unlikely with injuries. Still very young and Buffalo is such a young team with a bright future.

WPG takes that deal. But, didn't CBJ just trade their 1st to PHI?

Unless they just made another trade no, they traded the LAK 2023 1st. Which was like 22nd OA.

That is a wild overpayment for a 60 point 2C.

PLD will never play for the jackets again, it’s pretty clear he only wants to play for one team.

I guess young players never get better.... He'd be a good fit with JG and Laine.

Not as good of a deal due to that then. Still... Marchenko is very special. Let's see what the teams on PLD's list offer.

He's giving the Jets at least 5 teams to negotiate with. News broke yesterday.

Boqvist is more of an offensive-minded defender, which the Sabres have plenty of; Peeke is more defensive-minded, physical and larger. That's the distinction why the latter would be more preferable than the latter in terms of filling a need.

We've seen first hand the kind of player PLDiva is. He's not worth even thinking about for the Jackets.

Ya I suppose Babcock could give some Torts vibes to PLD.

If the forecasted pairings by local media in Columbus suggest Werenski-Severson / Provorov-Peeke are the top 2 pairings with Edmundson-Boqvist as the 3rd pairing - and that doesn't seem unrealistic - it just underscores that Boqvist is at best a # 5 or 6.........which the Sabres have plenty of in-house options for.

I could see Boqvist becoming a casualty of Babcock's tenure - as Friedman said on today's podcast, the two deals CBJ just made were for "heavier" defensemen that Babcock historically prefers to lean on. Boqvist doesn't fit that category.
