Can't see the Canes going for that, but I like it for the Hawks.

Canes are trying to win, not rebuild

I’d rather use the draft pick. The option is get a top-of-the-line of player now and pay him top-of-the-line up dollars or get a very likely top-of-the-line lineup player and pay him in three/four years.

Doesn't really make sense for either team - Canes need Jarvis and the production he provides now, while Hawks can (and should) wait a few years for Demidov/Levshunov to mature and develop.

Jarvis is 22 and can put up 80 points a season while playing a strong 2way game. I am not worried about paying him if he is young and going to be in CHI for a long time. I would much rather have him than Levshunov.

I'd definitely rather have him over Guentzel, Marner, Necas, Marchessault, or any of the other free agent targets over the next couple summers.
