Draft 2024 picks 1st round. Comments?
that sounds like an answer that would make me think montreal will defintely choose a forward with their first pick, maybe even their 2nd. they difintely need another decent line in there bolstered

2 rounds with a trade
Your top 10 choices are who is going top 10 i think. maybe an 8 out of the 10 will be correct but eitherway if not by the exact teams you chose, those players will defintely get picked. the only suprise i could see happening and changing that, would be beckett sennecke maybe catton

Marner to Kraken
LOL no way does this seem fair. Marner is great, but thats giving up a lot for 1 player. this isn't the NBA where a team gives up 7 first round draft picks for a superstar.

nice choices. I like your logic on why each player will be chosen by the specific teams. I like th etarik parascak pick from the wild, i think any team that gets him is going to be happy with that pick, nice to see him go 13 if he does. I agree with chicago going with artyom at number 2, but i've heard of possible cayden lindstrom going that high also, which wouldn't be bad to make their offesnse crazy good. I don't think beckett goes that high, but i think higher than most mock drafts have him at.

Questions/Comments?
The more i look into the players in this draft, I am almost worried about the pick seattle might end up taking. as i think the defensemen will still be pretty good to get if we go that route, we might be able to get allstar right off the bat to make our offense even more scarier for the future with a pick of iginla, lindstrom (if he's there but hear the habs have a lot of interest in him and he might go top 3) Cole Eiserman as a sharpshooter to basically compete with mccann for top goals on the team, and or beckett sennecke seems to have a lot of praise about his skill as well. Might not be a bad choice to get another top end offense player for seattle.... if not lets hope no matter who we get, they are excactly what we wanted

Draft 2024 picks 1st round. Comments?
Ok i'll give you that on your info, thanks for providing it. That depth sounds promising to me as well actually. My argument about it tho was a defensemen in general, i didn't look into as far as a LHD or RHD. There for were both kind of right. as far as the offense goes, of course you can never go wrong with having a better offense. And who knows, maybe with all the top 10 defensemen that are ranked, a bunch of suprises comes through and teams will draft all the wingers because its almost a gurentee of skill out of the player whereas it seems like most of the defensemen in this draft, except levshunov are not 100% to be a all star defensemen. that being said, you never actually know who is going to adapt well to the nhl level until they get there and do it. thats why there are 3rd rounders that are superstars over a lot of 1st rounders that were drafted in the same year. So you Have to go for what the team needs as a rule to success in building a team right? This is why in basketball nba for an example 2007 draft, the rule of thumb was that number 1 pick Greg Oden was the big 7ft dominate player, and the unwritten rule is that you always take the big guy because dominite centers in the nba are hard to come by. The 2nd overall pick was Instant Hall of Famer, Kevin Durant. Greg Oden was injured in his first season and never played again. Kevin Durant is on the verge of being top 3 and has a possibility of top 2 or even 1 if he stays long enough probably not though, to be th all time scoring champion in the NBA. So in NHL You have to choose the player that suits the teams needs no matter what. and in the Habs case, they Need D. lol or you all can cluster up a bunch of centers and wingers like you always do, and hope your offense can get the job done, my bet is, you end up back here in the draft next year with another top 5 pick.

Draft 2024 picks 1st round. Comments?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leemer2</b></div><div>Habs have an excess of solid Left hand defenseman - they need scoring up front. Hughes has stated that they are very unlikely to take a LHD and Buium is not the Best Available player on the board at pick #5. They are taking Demidov if available, Lindstrom, Iginla or Catton in that order.
At pick #27 if they don't trade it up, I suspect they pick Henry Mews or possibly Matevi Gridin.</div></div>
there is an excess of everything on the team but the habs dont have a bad first few lines on their roster and do have a horrible defense as of right now. How do you know for sure the depth for their defense is actually going to be any good at the nhl level? With the 5th pic overall in this draft their are plenty of Defensemen that are going to be nhl ready and most likely good players immediately vs waiting years before hoping your current depth of defensemen are ready to play. Go Defense now while you still got the pick and you will be good to go for in the NEAR future. Its either that your you guys can throw another season in hopes of landing another top pick, just like chicago did to get bedard

What universe do you live on? Cause that is almost opposite to MTL IRL.</div></div>
the universe that says draft the players you need because if you got the 5th pick in the draft this year, most likely its because your defense sucked. and sure enough, after looking at the habs roster, their defense sucked.

Updated Weekly Mock
First off i like that you spent time in why you made your choices. I do the same. Now, first off, For what i know of, i agree with your 2nd overall pick. I think chicago goes D and not demidov. It would be better. With that choice, it would change direction for the ducks, because they need a defender. so honestly i think they pass up on demidov and go for a RD like they need. Calgary does NOT pass up on iginla, no way. I thought your Devils choice in Stiga was interesting, i agree with needing another forward but not that guy., more of a center i think. Most of all I think i agree with at least the positions the teams should be going for for the latter part of your draft in the 1st round. That being said, Thanks for sharing your mock draft

I was thinking More of a center is most important after doing my 2nd mock draft. but to be honest i feel like the blues almost need a rework. i know they got some good players but seems like their stanley cup team is sort of falling apart

Also, I am seattle fan as well. And I don't think Dickenson is going to be available at this pick for seattle. I think they are going to get stuck with a 6 ft tall defensemen or if it were my choice considering the options available at this point in the draft, we may get stuck having no other option but to not get a D-man like we need and end up trading down for a straight up goal scorer in Eiserman. I don't know much about the players in the draft but if you ask me, a Defensemen should be like 6-2, 6-4 solid "adam larson" size attitude and still be able to get things done but not beknown for the guy who scores 100 points in a season. especially not half of it in goals. assists ok for sure, but the d-man has to be bigger than 6 ft. imo for seattle, we need it, one thats going to be a 1st liner at the 2nd line D position behind larson and dunn

I think the top 3 picks are a guarentee. But i also think that if the blackhawks pass on demidov, then so will the ducks because they need more D then they do offense. which is why drafts are fun because now teams are having to pick from what they need moreso than top players in the draft and shockingly enough, most the top 10 pick teams are in need of Defensemen

I think MTL drafts a defensemen either way. Also to be honest, the last maybe 10 picks i was lazy on researching the players. But after looking up Sennecke, you're right, he will most likely be drafted by the Golden Knights at 19 or The Islanders at 20. I'm pretty sure he doesn't go any earlier than that. but i have seen some interesting moves in thh first round, so ya never know

Thread:
How far could Demidov fall
I don't think your choices are too bad, I also don't think demidov is going to fall, especially as far as not even having him on the 1st round. lol. as far as your other choices go, i don't think you have researched some of the players enough yet to determine them going as far down as you have, such as Carter yakemchuk and sam dickenson. Now i will go as far to say that the top 10 players in the first round can go anywhere in the top 10. except celebrini and artyom who are clear top 3 players. but you have some players ranked pretty high also that probably shouldn't be that high like adam jiricek at 17? i will also say that sometimes in the draft players jump into crazy positions that make everyone go whaaaa??? but those are a little far off to agree with that will happen to with how you ranked them, dont you think? after researching every teams roster and what they could use in ths draft from whatever info i know of them, a lot of these teams would benefit from trading up or down for players as well, so i think it is possible some drop further than they are listed to be drafted at only becuase teams aren't in need of those positions. Nice list and thanks for sharing.

Marner
I'm confused. so if i'm reading this correctly (just joined today btw) then new jersey is getting nothing in this deal. They are trading their top pick (number 10 pick btw) and they get a late 1st round pick and have to pay 50 percent of marners salary? and thats it? why do you think that new jersey would do this? I think you tried to add a 3rd team to this trade to try and make it work, but it leaves one team at least with nothing good in return. new jersey has to receive more for their part of the trade. Assuming the salary cap numbers are good as well, considering the note to this trade.
