Tanev

I really hope Nill will try (maybe he did) to get him.
The other dude is right. Anaheim will have to receive a sweetener to take the full contract of Faksa.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GeneralLandro</b></div><div>Anaheim isn’t paying you for eating salary</div></div>
Yeah I just chose Anaheim but as I said I think there are other teams that would like him. Just has to be the right system for him.

Focus on forwards

Honestly that's what I get for working on two of these at the same time. Thought I already did. Yes, he will definitely be qualified.

I don't know. Obviously trying to be more physical in this game then just had a split second stupid decision. Luckily Stone didn't get hurt. I'm sure he will get suspended and deserves to be. Benn had a really good year this is year and to end it like that is just sad.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SlevinKalevra</b></div><div>I don’t see us as a fit to be honest. I feel like the smart move is to keep building up prospects for when Benn, Lindell, Faksa, and Suter are gone. I don’t see Calgary going for our package compared to what other teams would be willing to move for him anyways</div></div>
I agree. I'm excited about what we have in the pipeline and I would hate to give up a bunch of them for one player, plus all the cap gymnastics we would have to play. Except for signing RFA's and doing something with Dobby, I think we are done.

Since it looks like DeBoer
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheMooterus</b></div><div>1. Keep Hakanpaa. In this circumstance it would actually give Dallas the 3 RD & 3 LD on our blue line.
2. Johnston & Stankoven aren't eligible for the AHL next season. It's either NHL or CHL for them.
3. Don't sign Mikheyev. Save that $3M, move Peterson to the 2LW spot, and use one of Kiviranta/Tufte/Karlstrom/Olofsson for that bottom-6 winger spot. Saves $3M you don't need to spend on Mikheyev</div></div>
Thanks for the info on Johnston and Stankoven. So, would you just focus on the defense with the cap we have remaining and not look at other forward options? Save cap for a potential mid-season trade?

Another One
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rolfadinho</b></div><div>What’s the scouting report on the 2 players being sent to Florida in the Montour deal?</div></div>
So Hanley is a 3rd liner, 7th defenseman. Looking at Florida's roster if we were able to take this trade I was trying to send someone back that can help play defense this year for cheap. Damiani is probably a middle six forward prospect who's actually had a couple of good years in the AHL. We have a lot of center prospects on our roster and was looking at moving one to enhance the trade value instead of just sending another pick.

Yeah I could see a pick swap with this. Honestly I don't mind Faksa. He didn't have a good year this year, but his is the only real moveable contract of value and if we really want more offense we need to try and move it. Too many NMC's on our roster.

Working around NMCs with Robo Max Extension
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheMooterus</b></div><div>From the Stars perspective it makes much more sense to sign him to a 3-year deal. It essentially guarantees 11 more years of contract control on Robertson, by making him an RFA when the 3-year deal expires. Sure, an 8-year isn't the worst thing in the world for the Stars this offseason, but the absolute best option is a 3-4 year deal, allowing Dallas to then sign him to his 8-year contract after it expires.
Same goes for Oettinger. Sign him until he's 25-26 years old & then maximize his contract.</div></div>
I did that in a previous post, giving Robo 3 years. 8 years is a thought for him though because in 3 years contract amounts could be much higher especially if he keeps up his production. With 8 years, he's 30 when his big contract is up. Not saying he will regress in his mid-30's, but that's what we have currently with Benn and Seguin.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheMooterus</b></div><div>If you're shelling out that kind of money for Kadri, I'd rather just spend it on Burakovsky. Stars have a ton of depth down the center of their lineup. They don't have a ton of organizational depth on the wings.</div></div>
I like Burakovsky also, I just went with someone different than my previous post. I agree, more wing depth is needed.
