These sort of things happen despite what you think. Marner obviously doesn’t think his success hinges on Matthews, that’s a really bad take.

"A player wanna play with the best players as possible to increase stats and thus revenues" is a way better take than "a player could waive no trade clause just because I want to get rid of him".

It’s mutually beneficial though. I don’t think Marner is appreciated here and the abuse he takes would take a toll on anyone. You can have your opinion, just don’t act like there isn’t a good enough reason for him to waive, there certainly is now.
