I don’t think this trade in its current form would be good for the hawks. I believe getting a player like Mitch Marner would be good in the short term, but potentially harmful in the longer term at his acquisition cost. I’d say take a wait and see approach.

Without an extension in place prior to the trade,the Hawks would be foolish to trade away the assets it likely takes to get Marner.
