I can see Chicago taking on a contract this offseason, im not positive Johansen fits what they are trying to build.
Speed and high compete level has been a theme throughout the rebuild. I havent seen much of Johansen lately but that's not exactly what I think of when I hear his name.

If Chicago moves Murphy this trade could make sense for them. Add a 2nd and a veteran D-Man with a reasonable cap hit.
If Murphy isnt moved Chicago should pass to keep the roster spot open for a young guy.

Left handed D men shouldn't be Chicago's top priority, but I dont hate it from Chicago's perspective.
I would rather send either of the other two 2nd rounders instead of the 33-38th OA pick.
Chabot cant seem to stay healthy.. 3rd year in a row he's missed significant time with an injury. Small Red flag but its an interesting idea.

That is not a move the rebuilding Blackhawks are looking to make.
They have the space to take on Cap but they will not send back Dach and a 2nd for those pieces.
They can sign "veteran presence" in the offseason without using assets to get it.
Owen Beck, Wifi and Anderson unretained might get you Dach + picks

Saw this in an article thoughts
Before the news of the cap increase I didn't see a way Toronto could afford to resign Nylander without moving one of their other expensive forwards.
The projected Cap gives Toronto a new hope to keep the band together.
I agree that Toronto should not have to send two 1st's in this deal. In this hypothetical deal I assume Nylander is signing in CGY?

Connor Brown has not looked very good thus far. I dont think he is a priority UFA.
I expect Chicago to sign or trade for another veteran UFA similar to Foligno/ Uncle Perry to help get to the Cap Floor.
Maybe not my 1st choice but Tarasenko comes to mind.

You may need to find another team for double retention. Chicago has some guys they might want to move with retention. Burning their 2nd slot for a 4th round is pretty meh.

The value might be fine and Chicago should be open to trading Raddysh.
Unfortunately for Edmonton, Chicago should be satisfied with their young LD depth.
Raddysh as a 3rd line winger is more value to Chicago than another LD prospect.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Affectionate_Side_64</b></div><div>I'm trying to make you understand that you don't speak for Chicago, because you clearly don't recognize their "needs" as a team in a scorched earth rebuild. You know who else has an overpaid defenseman at 9.5 mil and a generational talent? Edmonton, who drafted McDavid EIGHT years ago. Where is your version of Draisatl at 8 x 8.5? Or RNH at 7 x 6 mil? Or Hyman at 7 x 5.5? Or Kane at 4 x 5.125? What is your version of prime Taylor Hall as a trade asset? Has KK become Evan Bouchard already?
Here's the answer, you have none of that because you literally just started the most severe scorched earth rebuild the league has ever seen 1 year ago. And as for the Nurse + McDavid vs Jones + Bedard comparison, the critical difference is Nurse is only 2 years older than McDavid, while Jones is 11 years older than Bedard, along with everything else I just mentioned. So, I'm giving you specific information to explain why Jones does not fit your window of contention, and why the sooner you sell on him the better off you'll be.
Did you honestly think your rebuild was over once you drafted Bedard, after shipping out almost every piece of value on your team? If so, you'll have to learn at your own pace. Unfortunately if you don't understand this already it will take multiple years to recognize, but thanks for your feedback, Kyle Davidson!</div></div>
You are talking in circles now.
This was a good laugh on a boring Saturday at the Office.
Cheers!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Affectionate_Side_64</b></div><div>Great analogy, let's tweak it a bit. If you have a dozen eggs in the fridge, but they've gone rotten by the time you're ready to eat them, you'd probably be interested in trading those rotten eggs for a dozen fresh ones. How we doing? You understanding the concept of a scorched earth rebuild and the timeline that precludes?</div></div>
So Much hostility.
Chicago has 4 NHL dmen under 22 on their roster, with two others in the AHL that have NHL potential (Allen and Del Mastro) so the D men in the proposed trade probably aren't the guys Chicago is going after.
With all those young guys having Jones at 9.5 isnt really an issue right now.
Moving pieces they dont need to move for pieces they dont want.
When people say 'No" to a trade I get that its frustrating but I'm giving you specific information about why I don't want Chicago to do this deal.
You understanding these pieces dont fit with Chicagos needs?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Affectionate_Side_64</b></div><div>Give it a rest buddy. Hirvonen is a top 9 lock with top 6 potential, and did you actually hear that? Doubtful. Liljegren is already close to being a top 4 D man and Niemela won defenseman of the of WJC and has top 4 offensive potential as well. Not to mention the 1st and 3rd, nor the fact that Jones does not fit your window of contention and would be most valuable to you now. This trade is comparable to what you gave up to get Jones from CBJ, when he was younger and you had yet to overpay him.
Referring to these pieces as "scrap parts" makes you look nothing more than ignorant, but well done.</div></div>
If you have dozen eggs in the fridge and someone offers you more eggs, you probably wont be interested..

You decline because someone tried to trade for a Blackhawks player, "the Hawks" do not decline because they have a basic level of competence.</div></div>
This isnt an overpayment.
Hirvonen looked underwhelming in the few preseason games. I heard his bell is still ringing from that hit he took.
Lil J is a serviceable d man, but Chicago has more young D than you can shake a stick at.
You don't have to get butt hurt about Chicago fans not wanting Toronto's scrap parts.

A prospect and a pick might get you one of them but not both. Hawks have a handful of young d men, they are looking for forwards.
