That would be intriguing for San Jose. The question has come up as to whether they get their salary retention slot back since they are back to paying his full salary. I would jump on this if that's the case.

I will say giving up a pick to move Kotkaniemi is not great. His buyout is dirt cheap. If you insist, Sharks will take him for that 2nd as well.

Supposedly Vancouver is legit interested in KK- but every time I make the pick going back a third or lower every comment is a Vancouver fan arguing with me and ignoring the rest of the team so I’ve just started making it a 2nd

I think Montour would be an upgrade at about the same price- age is hitting Burns. Someone may take him for less though. Defense is sacrificed a little here because the forward core is insanity so a little upgrade there is nice.

I know VAN was rumoured with KK But I imagine that would have been a Mik swap. Especially after extending Blueger I doubt they go for him.

I don't see the appeal for CBJ and Montour definitely gets more

They don't get that retention slot back, but Burns does stay at his current cap hit. So if they dealt him with a 3rd part team retaining 50%, then it would be at 2.64.

Sharks should absolutely do this they get the offer. they need a puckmoving RHD and at 1 year it's a nobrainer

After winning the cup! He will want his payday. I cant see Montour signing for anything less than 7.5 per season!
