I don't think the Jets have the leverage for that kind of haul for a kid who isn't NHL ready and was a 14OA pick who hasn't really overplayed his slot. Gavin Brindley outplayed and outscored him on the same line last season, for example.

I feel like if Joshua is signing for $2.5M, then nucks would've signed him already

    2 things.

Joshua is signing for 4+ if it isn't with the Canucks.
    And
You gotta pay the bad tax for both of those players you can sign zadorov for 6$ by 6 and Joshua 4.5 by 4

Agreed; Frankly, the ‘25 1st alone might be a bit rich, even assuming it’s heavily protected (maybe T-14).

Ceulemans and Dumais alone feels more appropriate. They both come with pros and cons, and I don't know how likely either is to break onto the Jackets, either. The fact both will need at least a year of AHL time is probably also extremely valuable to the Jets.

Winnipeg isn't waiting to 25 for the pick if they're only getting a quantity package.

For this reason I don't think he's going to pull the value most are thinking. Hell I think most GMs might stay away because the reason he's doing this is because he clearest path to potential playing time. I think at the end of the day he's going to end up in Chicago or Columbus and that's just not me being a homer. He wants the path of least resistance to make the show.

Fair. I also admit I’m higher on Dumais than most.

Canucks would just sign Zadorov and Joshua for those prices

I would like to be as well but double hip surgery and sports hernia surgery at 19 while also playing in the Q inflated numbers.
Vitalii Abramov had 300 points in 3 Q seasons, look where he is now

Rutger is also a bigger and tougher player. We don't have any 2 end forwards (of top 6 quality/potential) so that's another reason i like him
I'm predicting Brindley may be better than KJ, from what I saw of just 1 game flushed cheeks

Again, fair! But PPG Dumais has produced at a higher rate, and that is with the surgery addressing issues that he had been dealing with for years now.

Maybe he comes out of rehab a different player (which, again, not unreasonable to expect), but I still like him. Abramov was a kid who generally produced at a high level in the AHL, but never cracked the NHL. Wouldn’t blame the kid for signing a KHL contract that took him to NHL UFA.

Scott Wheeler did a dive, and relative levels of production across all junior levels, this is a kid whose floor projects as Conor Garland. If that’s the level we are supposed to expect, I’m OK with it.

All told. It’s one thing if Dumais is in a trade for an established, need-now player, versus another prospect. Just makes for a few years of nervousness when dealing with who turns into who over time for prospects. I wouldn’t hate this trade, but I also feel like the ‘25 1st alone would be fair.
