I cannot imagine a world where the Devils allow a team to pick Holtz up on waivers..... there is no way he clears. Grier would fly to East Rutherford to give Fitz a bear hug.......

Having said that, I like that 3rd line. It's pricier than I would want, but it is very pesky.

Moving Bahl Is a tough call. I do think the Devils need more experience in the back end (found them very green this last season); but Bahl also has the tools to be a very effective #4-6 D. Would be more inclined to sign a vet D who can rotate in the line up.

I scratched Holtz. I didn't release him. The third line is a bit pricey because you can switch these guys to third line (especially Bert).

It's a solid team but Devils can't risk wasting another year w/ the Hughes / Hischier core by running a Ned / Allen tandem. Both fine goaltenders but neither is a starter.
Either a trade has to be made or you take Berts money and pay a legitimate starting goaltender.
