Demko does nothing for us here - we badly need shutdown blueliners, not more offensive ones - and there's no way in hell we'd pay that much for anyone anyways.

The Hawks can go into free agency and spend similar $$ on a FA and get a similar or better player than Garland and keep their draft capital.

The Canucks would be the ones adding a draft pick(s) not the Hawks.
