Description
Hroneks ask in a contract becomes too much for Vancouver and they look to flip him at the draft for futures to clear up some cap space for FA. They also dump Mikheyev for more room. With this newfound money Canucks go big name hunting in FA, bringing home BC boy Sam Reinhart to get Pettersson an elite winger, along with adding Roy, Demelo, and Walker on the backend. They price out on Dakota Joshua, causing them to take a couple gambles on potential replacements in Duhaime, Tufte, and Afanasyev. They also leave 3C a little open in hopes that one of Chmelevski or Raty manage to step up, with Blueger as a backup plan. They also make a small trade with Tampa to get one more puck mover on the backend.

Sharks counter: Hronek and Aiden Celebrini for just the PIT 1st (#14 oa).

You can have the rights to Chmelevski too but he just signed a new contract in the KHL. Not sure how easy it would be for him to get out of it if he wanted to play in Vancouver.

I'd rather just sign Hronek to the shorter deal with the 3x6.5 or so rather then go for an older player who isn't as productive. Plus I don't know if a rebuilding team is going to give up all those futures to waste Hronek's prime years while they are rebuilding.

Really like the Walker and Dillon signing.

The NJD 2nd is pick 42, not 31 (I'm guessing your hand was one spot off and you didn't notice it).

I don’t personally think Hornek is worth that much and the sharks shouldn’t be paying anything near that anyway
