Would the Rangers be able to match this? I know that they don't have a ton of cap space and also have Lindgren and Kakko as RFA's.

So you paid him that much and gave up those picks to play him below… Ethan Bear?

Sure they could.

Rangers could retain 2 mil on a Trouba trade and free up 6 mil.

Solid dman, but is his offensive game going to increase beyond dependable at both ends, not exactly a game changer to overpay? Especially when you’re a bubble mediocre team.

Canucks decline. Too much term and money for a bottom pair dman.

And the Sabers haven't made the playoffs for over a decade...what's your point?

Are you allergic to fun? Why do you throw a fit every time somebody offer sheets a Rangers player. Are you okay?

I like every deal here. I almost never say that.

Guentzel’s contract is pricy but it’s what we’d need to pay to get him here. McMichael and Malenstyn contracts look great.

As much as I like TVR and Jensen (TVR is my favorite Cap) giving them up to have room for Schneider is worth it, and we’d be getting fair value for them. That Schneider offer sheet is also totally worth it assuming the Rangers don’t match it. He’d be a great D-partner for Sandin in particular.

Jeannot would be very interesting on the Caps. He was in our development camp before he signed with the Preds, and he’d be a great fit on the fourth line with Malenstyn and Dowd.

As for the Rossi trade, I’d rather offer Iorio than Chesley as Chesley is more of what we need and Iorio’s trade value is higher. If you take out the second, the trade value is fair. Rossi would be a great 2/3C and he rounds out the last of our needs to be a playoff team.
