Trades
1.
CHI
  1. Skinner, Jeff
  2. 2024 1st round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
Value of Skinner contract is $(5) million for next three years. Value of cap relief is Pick#14. Value of pick 11 is 5.7, pick 14 value is 5.1, so Hawks add pick 71 (value of 0.9). Sabres notionally come out ahead. If this is too ruthless, Hawks could give late 2nd round pick and/or player like Raddysh or Phillios
BUF
  1. 2024 3rd round pick (OTT)
2.
CHI
  1. Campbell, Jack
  2. Holloway, Dylan [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Campbell has zero value. $5illion cap hit over three years is worth #14.pick. Holloway was #14.pick in 2020 and.has.traits.(skating,.compete) the Hawks value. His injury history is concerning, so the Hawks.might want more
EDM
3.
CHI
  1. Lee, Anders
  2. 2024 2nd round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
Contract has negative value of $1.2 million and 2-year duration. Value of this relief is pick #48. Isles second-rounder is #50; close enough
NYI
    FC
    4.
    CHI
    1. Pageau, Jean-Gabriel
    2. 2024 1st round pick (NYI)
    Additional Details:
Negative value of $2.4 million for 2 years, worth the #33 pick per puckpedia (value of 2.6 per Athletic model). Isles #1 pick worth 4.3. Kings round 2 pick worth 1.4, Flames round 5 worth 0.3. Trade is therefore fair using this method, but maybe the Hawks need to add
    NYI
    1. 2024 2nd round pick (LAK)
    2. 2024 5th round pick (CGY)

Blackhawks can’t do this because all those players have NTC or a NMC.

SMRT. Edmonton would rather buy out Campbell and keep Holloway.

Taking on Campbell for just Holloway is very bad for you guys but everyone has clauses so likely none of them happen

Only one of these thats even close to realistic is the JGP trade.

    Skinner isn't waiving.

Holloway isn't anywhere near enough to take on Campbell's deal.

A single mid-2nd isn't enough to take on Lee.

I think this is doing a bit too much. Forget the Edmonton trade. I don't think it really helps either side all that much. I'd do the Skinner trade, but doubtful that BUF will. I do believe there can be something done between the Hawks and Islanders. Those two can be good veteran leaders for all these young guys.

Buffalo should not have any real reason to trade or buy out Skinner at least until the end of next season. Therefore the cost would also be lowered from this, If The team decides they need to move on from him, and he were to agree to a trade.

NMC's are a complicating factor but I love how every commenter on here is an expert on who will waive (generally, nobody).

It's their right to refuse to waive but why is everyone pretending like none of these guys want out, or could be persuaded out.

Sabres would be better off buying Skinner out. His buyout is not that bad and there would be more value having a top 12 pick on an ELC then the cap space the Sabres would save in trading him as compared to the hit from his buy out

I'm good with this. Honestly it's probably the only way, I don't think Skinner is gonna waive, so any trades are moot anyways.

I think he would waive for certain teams either in good weather cities or teams expected to compete. I dont think he would trade for Chicago.

EDM is more likely to give up picks over prospects so we'd probably just keep Campbell and buy him out.
If you want picks it becomes a little more realistic.

The Pageau trade is the only realistic one. I can see the hawks and isle doing something like this. The isles open up valuable cap space, hawks get a pick and a solid vet, wins face offs and plays hard. Works well for both teams hawks can pay him the 5mil for 2 years with no issues even if he plays on the 3rd/4th line. Plus JGP only has a M-NTC (which is a 26 team no trade list) so its 50/50.. LOL
