Please don't feed the Timmins nonsense. He's a replacement level player that Chicago can find in FA or via the waiver wire. No need to waste draft capital on him.

Not nearly enough to take on Lee. While moving up 2 spots in this draft would be nice, the value charts say that would cost a pick in the 80's which combined with a mid 2nd is not enough for 2 more years of Lee. Missing another 2nd or retention of a couple million per year.

NYI 1st for the LA King 2nd & Van 2nd values out to the #28OA pick which is closer to what it should take to dump Lee.

True, but he's not a complete cap dump, he still has value, just not as much as his contract. 2 years fits the schedule. Leadership. Can about anywhere on the roster if need be. Another good Vet in the room.

Okay, then pretend the Leafs dont give him a qualifing offer and the Hawks pick up him or a similar player to play 6/7d role.

True. But, has nothing to do with CHI's future. We don't NEED him, while the Isles do NEED the cap space. He is a negative asset, and should be treated as such, as far as a trade goes.

Agree with this. Lee is still a useful player but as Chicago stands, he's a cap dump to them. Isles are going to need to pay some kind of price to move him to Chicago and what's here isn't quite enough.
