Maybe he's a bigger piece than I thought, but didnt he get moved from center to wing and sent back down the AHL after not having much luck at NHL level? B tier prospect?

Someone else will take him for less. I think a second round pick is fair, could see a low round pick or fringe prospect going back.

I think that's a fair value deal for VAN. But, GM Alvin didn't sound too interested in getting rid of Mik, so I guess that's noteworthy</div></div>
Thats what someone who wants to keep a little leverage would say though. If he says "yeah, we gotta get that contract outta here" the only thing he can leverage is other teams against each other.

That trade came through mid ACGM, but i went ahead anyway. But I agree. And as far as 9m for Kane, that pencils from a tickets and jersey sales, helps the roster get better. Only way it doesnt work out is if Kaner values Chance to win 4th Cup > Money and fans that love him unconditionally

I think Hawks would be hesitant to trade Del Mastro, but would do this. Not sure the Flyers do this at this point unless they dont think Farabee fits the system.

10m for a jump in 12 spots seems steep, but it aint my money. So spend away, get those picks.
As far as the Anders Lee move, love it. Moving for 18oa to 54oa seems steep, I'd be fine with sending another pick back, Example would be next years 3rd round pick.

Yeah, I put that in the description. But you could do "ifs and buts" for ever scenario. The point was, would this have been better or worse for the Hawks rebuild, assuming everything between that draft and now remained the same.

Trading Up with Devils
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Is it a fair deal? It appears so.
Will it be best deal for NJD? Maybe not.
My guess is we target a player with a trade down. But if we wanted picks, this seems very possible to me.</div></div>
I agree, NJD will want a player with an immediate impact to the roster, plus a late round 1st. But, Hawks dont have any of those to offer that I think they are willing to part with and Devils would be interested in. Ultimately, I dont think it happens. I'm just hoping for more action on draft floor.

Okay, then pretend the Leafs dont give him a qualifing offer and the Hawks pick up him or a similar player to play 6/7d role.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wojohawk</b></div><div>Not nearly enough to take on Lee. While moving up 2 spots in this draft would be nice, the value charts say that would cost a pick in the 80's which combined with a mid 2nd is not enough for 2 more years of Lee. Missing another 2nd or retention of a couple million per year.
NYI 1st for the LA King 2nd & Van 2nd values out to the #28OA pick which is closer to what it should take to dump Lee.</div></div>
True, but he's not a complete cap dump, he still has value, just not as much as his contract. 2 years fits the schedule. Leadership. Can about anywhere on the roster if need be. Another good Vet in the room.

I kinda like it. Dont feel bad about letting him rid the bench, can insert into the line up on 3rd pairing or 4th line. If you have to put him on waivers and loose him, meh. Wouldnt be the worse.

ZERO interest in trading for Marner unless it comes with a decent AAV long term Extension. Sure, Jones is slightly overpayed, but he aint no dump and top pairing RHD come at a premium and are hard to come by.

Hawks would probably be interested in Tavares, but they likely arent giving up that much for him. And being that not many other teams can take on his cap, I think if the Leafs want to dance, they'd have to lower the asking price.

Chicago would be interested trading up more than likely. Can only have so many players in the system. Quality > Quantity. Hawks are open for business.

Frank Seravelli should be higher. I've never read something from him and thought "is this just mouthpiece for the league? Is this just him doing someone a favor?" Sure, his opinions are bold and sometimes come off as unpolished, but his content is no fluff, to the point.

Chicago next season give me your opinion pls
I think Anderson is more likely resigned and makes the roster over Entwistle. I dont think they will bring back Tinordi, but I do think they will bring in a veteran LD/RD to play with a young LHD and have some flexibility if there is an injury. I have a feeling they try to make something happen at the backup goaltender position, but I'm not sure if they will get it done.

Stay the plan
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawksguy81</b></div><div>No chance the Hawks give Reichel a 6 year deal. 2x$2.5m is probably as good as it gets for Lucas. I'd be fine taking a flyer on Wahlstrom for free. Wouldn't give up anything for him though. Those other two trades are easy no's for the Hawks. Get what your trying to do, but taking on $14m in cap hit, and more than $10m for 3 more years, costs qay more than a 3rd and a couple of longshot RD prospects.</div></div>
If they can lock him up that long and still believe he can be the player they thought when they drafted him. Worse comes to worse you bury him in AHL and hes a 1.5m cap hit. Seems pretty low risk if hes willing to sign that long.
