Other than the fact Brind'amour has said he won't leave Raleigh to coach, this made me laugh. Carolina are unlikely to re-sign any of these players. Martinook and Teuvo are probably the only two that they might look at bringing back. Funny idea

I guess you are just trying to let Addison and Ruuta walk. Personally I would keep Ruuta and buyout MEV. If you don't think Addison will yield a late round pick just don't QO if you want him gone.

Agree but I dont think buying out mev is the better option - rather just healthy scratch him or wait for him to retire. Rutta can be kept or traded at the TDL. Addison I would bring back to see if he can improve but if worst comes to worst he can be sent down.

At this point, Just Emberson and any combo of Burroughs/Benning/Rutta that would be the best to keep around for development's sake. If you want to bring in Pesce, I think you deal two of the vets, if not just get rid of one. If you keep Addison (not the worst idea imo) you'll also have him and probably Jack Thompson emerging as NHL options too.

Honestly there's no attractive answer to that. Of the RDs that were on the big club this year, Emberson is the only one. Benning wasn't the worst when he was healthy in 22-23 either. But like I said, if you don't QO Addison, he's gone.



I argued on FtF that we had come this far with MEV, what's a couple more seasons? But I have been swayed toward considering the posibility that he is a less than motivating influence on the young players and breaking ties may be the best option.
