That said Newhook-Mercer-Roy is a line that can grow together like Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkovsky has.

Besides Dach and Anderson played well together
Infact any Production Anderson had last year was by Dach really.
Since Dach went down Andersons been a ghost.
Farrels a good fit for them though as he's an Elite Level playmaker with Vision who lacks size but thats after TDL until then Dach plays Dvo's wing
Armia-Evans-Gallagher would be a good option until TDL when Armia and Evans will be traded as well IMO


Downside about this year is its all about Defensive Structure and about 4 Dmen's futures relying on their play.
There will be a lot of forwards playing for new contracts and for contenders to invest in them but after the TDL the youth will get their shot.
Laval is over crowded with talent so i doubt you'll see us re-invest in RHP or Ylonen who will be waiver bound at best and moved out for nothing at worst.
That said the addition of Mercer would help speed all that along quite nicely

That's not Kaiden Guhle (not that I'd want to trade Mercer for Guhle either but still).

Much closer than the jersey fans proposals where they try and take guhle for their trash

The devils are not interested in a defenseman that requires time on the power play to be effective. I’m not sure there’s anyone on the Montreal roster that would be considered available that I’d give up Dawson Mercer for.
